Lokreck

A town stuck in the middle of unearthed trash of the past with one side to a forest.

Demographics

All people have a common appearance, marking them as being of the town. They kept light hair, some getting an orange to a light brown.

Government

There is just a simple single leader for the town, one elected and of the older generation. The only rule, they can not have a better life than anyone else and can be kicked out of the position if the town thinks they are abusing their position.

Defences

Since the need to watch out for the mysterious army there are several watchtowers built to be able to message to the whole town of the incoming danger, time to give to hide the children. Any guns found are mostly in unworkable order and normally get disassembled, but even with the few kept around by people as a collection item. Few think there is use for them, especially the one threat already has a far more advanced version that has already taken the lives of the townspeople.

Industry & Trade

The town is self-sustaining with trade from traveling caravans for new things from far off. They have no defined item to trade besides recovered treasures of the trash fields. The best trade items are those of put together vehicles to power generators, only when the town is not in need of such a thing.

Infrastructure

The buildings of the town are ones of metal and repurposed brick of the old world, there are wood-based buildings being made closer to the forest with made bricks as well but this is difficult with the endless trash that is stored in the planes around the town being easier to be used for the central town. Being a small town means there is nothing in place for mass production, the craft shops are in place to give the craftsmen of the town to create and for tools to be shared and if a building is to be made that is in need of made things then the craft shops will work together for this to be done as soon as they can. A simple mechanics shop is also used to keep the vehicles in working order and if any traders are in need of repair.

History

The town was named after a sign that was left from the old world, what little could be read from it.   Originally created in the more forested area the town had slowly moved out into the fields as they were cleared, keeping the forest as pure as they could and to keep it as wild for their food supplies. They also did farming, but are very careful with it as they didn't believe that it shouldn't be their main source. This changed over time and farming was done on the top of every building to save on space and keep them in control of the pollution of the land while trying to extend the forest where they could and as they mined out the trash of the past. Animal farming was never able to work well as the forest wasn't to be touched unless hunting or gathering, but mushrooms were something in every home for ease.   They had the bare minimum of contact with any other settlements, just due to location. Other places learnt of the town and the fact of the trash fields, going there for the trade of the base materials. All in all, they were a peaceful town with simple work and lives.

Architecture

The town is a lovely shade of rust and green, the main town is made of metal that always has a layer of rust. Very little can be done to stop this as nature takes hold of the untreated metal besides the pasts efforts and paint jobs, but old pieces can be melted together to be remade into a new form. Care needs to be taken in construction as most buildings need to be able to have plant life grown as farming, with bridges built between close buildings to make work easier. The town is not easily navigatable for an outsider but the people living there grow up exploring and learning the paths it is easy, so you can learn it if you end up living there.

Natural Resources

The bounty of the forest that they originated from was and is their main supply chain. Otherwise, the land around is theirs for the exploit, less of a natural resource and more of the leftovers of the old world. A mass of trash that is only getting deeper the further from the town you get, at least estimated. No one has gotten that far out.
