Time Hounds
Time hounds are creatures that exist in and out of time at the same time. They are charged with destroying things that have gone against the natural order of time. If a person or thing moves out of their natural time, by going into the future or the past, they cause ripples in the time pattern. Time hounds can sense these ripples and they are drawn to them. The stronger a person outside of their natural time disrupts the pattern, the greater the ripples become and the more they can be sensed. This can cause more hounds or more powerful versions of the Time Hounds to enter the time and go after the displaced person.
Time Hounds look like Large Shadowy Mastiff hounds. Because they exist in the time stream and outside of it at the same time, they appear smokey and translucent. This give them some measure of protection against physical harm, though they have a weakness to weapons that are very old and have passed through different "eras" of time. They have powerful bite, and their howls can cause people to feel a paralysing fear.
Some say Father time created the Time hounds to protect the time pattern from being disrupted and possibly unraveled. Other say they are constructs of Time itself. It is known that Father Time and other powerful beings can protect people and objects from creating ripples, keeping them safe from time hounds.
