Serpentwood
A rare and mysterious tree with sinuous branches that twist and coil on themselves like mating serpents. Its bark has an iridescent quality, shimmering with hues of green and gold. Serpentwood is rumored to have mystical, arcane properties and is sought after by spellcasters for its magical resonance to use in wand- and staff-making. It can only be found in old growth forests near undisturbed and denser concentrations of Ley Lines where it pulls magical energy from, which post-Sundering, are far and few between, making it a species ripe for cultivation, but also poaching.
