Arkan

Apperance

Physical Condition

Arkan's true form was that of a wingless snake, miles long in size. His form's sheer size made it impossible to meet and enter conversations with others. Therefore, he created humanoid looking avatars. The location of his body was kept a secret from everyone including other devils and everyone who learnt of the truth about his body was killed within a day.   For the humanoid aspects and avatars, however, they all looked generally the same. Each was a tall man of roughly 3.96m with a muscular build and dark burnt skin. He looked quite charismatic, doing other devils no justice as all eyes would captivate to him whenever he entered a room.

Facial Features

Arkan, for all of his handsomeness, was utterly terrifying to look upon at the same moment. His eyes which flowed like two raging rivers of blood and his teeth were sharper than even some of the toughest blades forged in Celestia. But most importantly was his forked tongue which would occasionally slither out to try and wet his ever-dry lips.

Apparel & Accessories

Arkan, not have a problem with flaunting wealth, displayed it at every moment he could as it was of no concern for him. So whenever he was met with, his clothes would be in brilliant reds and blacks and had the value the likes of which could fund entire nations into existence if he so chose. Besides that, there was always the ever-present Black Ring of Arkan, said to house every soul ever collected by him and his minions.

Divinity

Divine Domains

Similarly to his daughter, Seriyle, Arkan is a deity that has his roots deep in deception and trickery. After all, being the ruler of Akar has made him all the more vicious in his pursuit of power, and thus, he has been known to have hands dirtied for his expense. As such, his domains lie in that of deeply rooted knowledge, but also an understanding of war as he continues in the feud that seems to never end between himself and the other celestials for rulership over the planar realms.

Scripture & Symbol

A large majority of Arkan's deeds and history can be found in the Cursed Tome of Ankeg. Otherwise, one might find mentions of him when studying demonology, as it is argued that he assisted Melchior in the creation of the planar realm known as the Void. Due to this relation with Melchior, which one can now see has become an utter hatred, there are also those who believe that Arkan's actions should be recorded in the Codex of Righteous Deeds due to the inherent desire to protect the realms of good from the chaotic nature that seeps from the Void. Regardless of whether there is truth in this discussion, the most reputed source of knowledge is the closely coveted Rituals of Akar, said to only be given to the most trusted of Arkan's disciples to perform the unholy rituals for his plane of torment, Akar.   Due to Arkan's original body representing that of a ginormous feathered snake that appears to want to corrupt all it touches, the most common symbol of Arkan happens to be that of a serpent's head with feathers slinking down the back of its head in profile to the left. However, this is not the only symbol that represents Arkan, as his followers are not just those who seek knowledge and rulership, but also can be bloodthirsty killers. As such, another symbol of his happens to be the symbol of a sun being pierced by a sword, representative of the one time that Arkan attempted to usurp the god of the raging sun, Behast.

Tenets of Arkan

Seek Power Over Others. That you might rule with strength as the Lord of Akar does.

Repay Evil With Evil. If others are kind to you, exploit their weakness for your own gain.

Show Neither Pity Nor Mercy. Those who are caught underfoot as you climb your way to power, the weak do not deserve compassion.

Divine Goals

Arkan hopes to one day amass a force of the damned strong enough to not only push back the forces which Melchior unleashed but also usurp the seat of Celestia where Asmos currently reigns and place himself as the divine ruler over the planes.

Holy Days

The Day of Blood and Wine
During the month of Wir, those who worship the deity celebrate by feasting every evening of the 40-day long month, filling their bellies to the utmost in the merriment and enjoyment that comes with it. Also during this time, they might decide to contribute with local debauchery during their time. However, the most important day for them is the final day of the month, which is a day for sacrifice. All of Arkan's most treasured and respected cultists come together in their local sects to decide upon a randomly selected sacrifice from the populace of the town. Those who are devout worshippers of Asmos are especially accepted for Arkan's complete distaste with the other deity. As such, they will intoxicate the sacrifice with various strong alcohols to lower pain and decrease resistance before performing a blood ritual upon an altar to Arkan. Whether boons are granted for this act, it is uncertain, but the followers believe that Arkan loves the blood, and so the blood they give him.
The Night of Remorse
At the end of each year, the followers of Arkan all gather together in solemn prayer for the suffering they must endure by granting into the new year the return of Asmos. Each year, they forsake desire for any hedonistic activity to simply suffer in the stead of Arkan at having the accept the existence that is Asmos with the return of a new year. And for this, Arkan seems pleased as it shows absolute fealty to him, and his followers shall make excellent and devout warriors on the battlefield in the never-ending war against the demons of the Void.
