Yuan Ti
Yaunti are a snake folk, despised by many other races while being worshipped by some. Many believe them to wickedly and solely evil, and some are in certain cultures, but just like humans and many other species, yaun-ti are individuals, each with their unique personalities and often breaking away from their generalistations.
"I once knew a yaun-ti. He was not a bad fellow, but he did eat a chicken whole once, completely void of any chewing- much like a snake would. A logical biological trait, but, it was rather gruesome to watch nonetheless." ~ Herald Dumont IIISubraces The Yaun-ti are divided into major categories, and often their is a social class divide among them. They also fall into some minor categories such as:
- Yuan-ti anathemas: these yuan-ti were the result of a ritual that transformed a yuan-ti abomination into a larger, more powerful and more aggressive creature. Anathemas were immortal and considerably larger than abominations, with claw-like hands and six snake heads. Anathemas were incredibly rare and held a unique position in the usual yuan-ti caste system. Anathemas did not live among other yuan-ti, as their presence within a yuan-ti city was so powerful it lead to societal and structural collapse. As a result, they lived alone outside yuan-ti settlements. Their creation required unbelievable sacraficess of hundreds of snakes and murder.
- Holy guardians: Yuan-ti holy guardians were dedicated to their purpose in life: protecting the holy places of their god. They were alert and diligent in this duty, and would die if necessary to accomplish it.
- Yuanti Mageslayers: Yuan-ti mageslayers have a humanoid head and arms and had an affinity for magic, often dealing with threats of magic in societies.
- Yuan-ti Ignags: Yuan-ti ignans were volatile, violent yuan-ti with salamander ancestry and are the only yuan-ti native to ignis. They are the only yuan-ti with horns also. They burn much hotter than their kin and are extremely vulnerable in cold conditions.
- Yaun-ti Mind Whiperers: These malisons had snake like heads, and humanoid bodies with four limbs. They are sterotypically manipulative, often earning yaun-ti their 'evil identities'. They are often believed to worship Sseth.
- Yuan-ti Pit Masters: Yuan-ti pit masters were mostly humanoid in form, but had many snake-body-like tentacles in place of arms. Some believes they are myths, or perhaps they are simple more careful, and thoughtful than othe yuan-ti. They are believed to worship Merrshaulk.
- Yuan-ti Nightmare Speakers: These malisons have a humanoid head and upper body and a serpentine lower body. They were always female. Their titles are well earnt, as they often bring nightmares to those who meet them, rumored to savour torture and pain. Their psyonic abilities are believed to be able to invade dreams.

Alongside their immunity to poisons, being the result of a magical ritual isn't all people make it out to be, but it certainly has its advantages for yaun-ti. They are rather resistant o many magical effects due to their history and creation.
Genetics and Reproduction
All subraces of yaunti are born in eggs, much like at least 70% of snakes are. However, some yaun-ti have been known to ave live births if surviving colder environments as an egg would not survive in cold climates.
Female yuan-ti lay often lay eggs in brood chambers, marking each clutch with its parentage, then abandoning them to the care of broodguards.
"I certainly hope to never see a broodguard" ~ Herald Dumont III

Sarrukh bred the first yuan-ti by magically experimenting with and breeding humans with snakes and sarrukh, also creating nagas and lizardfolk in the process. They eventually fell from power and the resourceful yuan-ti rose up to claim their creators' power
