Session 45: "You're Not So Bad Mr. Gore"
General Summary
With everyone in the streets of Estorra, members of the Apex Flame took to their own errands and ways to spend the momentary down time. Beau headed back for the house where he spotted Gore beginning to carve the large behemoth corspes. Except he was not alone as Gunter Gorge, the young half-orc boy from the village was keen to watch and learn. Zilla had made his way to he Wild Woods yet again to wshare a drink wih the strange beast that guards the tree and delve into how it became that way. Caz had made his way to the orphanage to spend some time entertaining and teaching the kids who absolutely loved spending some time with the hero that they were not aware would be king soon. This meant Winnie had run off to Beau for a few hous before an excursion to the beach with all of them followed. Axel had taken to playing some music in town square and Anton had promptly offered Deloris to dance. Ginny and Zilla had soon joined them, and Lillith had joined Axel in playing some music. The night, of course ended with a group dinner (that was far too salty) and they bidded each other goodnight.
The following morning, Caz had woken up early to quietly strum his guitar in his room when Kallie's voice rang through his head and he heard a thump on the stairwell. Kallie was sick and very clearly trying to make it for the kitchen sink. What was concerning was what Caz had noticed Kallie throwing up, a whole finger...
That day, Beau had trained in the morning and Michaael had saught him out and joined him. Gore had continued carving the behemoths so the children from the orpanage had all come to watch and join in after Winnie encouraged them to. Lillith was sure to sit cross-legged with a smirk as he regaled tails from how he learnt the skill. Gunter had confessed that:
"You're not so bad Mr. Gore" ~Gunter GorgeMeanwhile, Caz had Zilla and Axel join him in exploring Falcon Claw in hopes of learning where the body parts Kallie had thrown up might have come from. Their investigattion confirmed a series of brutal murders in Falcon Claw from a nice woman on a date, to Jenna from Larz's bar, to a father in just outside of the stone district. And so, after keeping an eye on Kallie, informing other memories of the party except for Gore, Caz took to telling Kallie the news that she herelf was not aware of. It was not receveived well, and Kallie was sure to ask for proof. When they gave it to her, she had tried to be sick, and instead the poor woman fainted. When she did though, Zilla used the opportunity to use his grim psychometry on her. This lead to a series of events including a battle of the minds between Zilla and a demon they would learn was inside Kallie, titled the Devourer. They learnt Kallie was what the branders had called a sould child, an exeperimental program in which they mix-mashed souls. Elias was quickly at the scene. When the group pulled Zilla out, the devourer attempting to kick him out of the body, he didn't come out the same. By transforming into his beastial form in the mind, he came out and quickly started shifting and angry. Caz had tried to get him out of the house, and Ginny had calmed him down. The nightmares that followed for Zilla were intense that night. When Kallie had woken up after many tears, a throbbing headache, and confusion, she made her way to her room where she crawled up in a ball in her bed. Not so long after, Axel had trailed up the sttairwell and into her room. He had sat in her bed, and leant back to comfort her. Kallie eventually rolled around and wrapped her arms around him. Beau had elected to sleep somewhere far away, and near the orphanage. Gore and Anton had headed to check on Doloncasta who wasalive but trapped in his own body. So, Gore and Elias had made a trip with Anton to smite the demon into giving p the wizard. When they returned to Estorra, Gore had made his way straight to bed. Anton had headed upstairs where he said goodnight to Ginny who was outside Zilla's door. Caz was sure to check on Beau before letting the party know he was heading to Falcon Claw for the night. He had taken his little sistser, and Maddison with him, who was very excited to see the castle.

I was sure I would beat Bruno in a race when the sun came up today, because I could feel the excitement to run take up all my senses. Mum made sure I ate some bacon and eggs before I went to fly out the front door. Then dad made me promise to do my chores when I got home, which sucked. But I didn't mind too much because I was really excited to go hang out with Mr Gore again! I didn't beat Bruno at all when we raced towards the house at the edge of town. It is really cool to live so close to the adventurers, especially the one I quickly spotted . Mr Gore was back at work carving the beast, sweaty in the sun. His purple eyes were focused on the pelt he was carving.. I stopped for about two seconds to look at his horns, and then down at the HUUUUGE monster splayed across the area. The way their horns curled was the same, cool and spiky. Mr Gore had said he and the monsters were the same, but I bet those monsters would have killed me. I thought Mr Gore would too fo a little while, but then I remembered that big, toothy people aren't always so mean, like my mum and me. I never want someone to look at me or someone like Mr Gore and think I or they are here to hurt them. No, Bruno and I will be heroes, just like Mr Gore was when he protected the city against the beautiful beast on the floor, even if he liked the monsters.
