Session 2: Stealing The Show

General Summary

The party begin their travel to one of the two locations they know an Ingolan crystal is, making a stop in Fare Haven, the logging village along the Ignian Highway. There, they grab a warm meal, begin to get to know one another (Zilla is a sweet tooth, Anton loves to learn, Gore likes to kill, and Beau likes to sketch), and Gore cooks a bandit like a spit-roast in the woods and takes the deer they were cooking as to not let it go to waste, of course, as you do...   Then the party continue their walk down the Ignian Highway, towards the Citadel. However, after three days of travel, the group find themselves stopping in a place completely opposite to the Citadel's atmosphere. Instead, they are surprised by the sight of a woman, standing atop a horse, juggling. She tosses on of her juggling balls towards the party as she shouts to them. "Welcome to the Big Bright Bonanza!"   The party's attention falls on a bright array of tents, and streamers and people. A man on stilts, a child who is unbeatable in an armwrestle, as well as horses and carts. Music blares from many of the tents, and so, the party take a break to explore and have some fun. At the circus, Zilla and Gore team up in a fight against some strong men, Beau and Ginny win some teddies, all of them enjoy magical foods, whacky snacks, and corn dogs. Most of all, the party climb a slippery pole to win some prizes. Zilla being the most determined to leave with some goods. The party help the Ringmaster, Arian, round up an escaped Bullette, a creature for the beast fight show, and earn some small coin doing so. Many explore futures with the seer, until the Seer explores too deep and she hunches in pain exploring Gore's future. So, Gore sticks a claw in her throat and kills her on site... So after Ginny and Beau find him and what he had done, Zilla's offer to leave becomes the top priority.   And so, the party are travelling yet again, and they do so for another ten days, reaching the Citadel a day earlier than they had anticipated. There, they step into the city-like walls, a guard at either side of the gate. They learn that birds flock in the sky ominously, a guard patrols every busy street, and that many wondrous stores can be found in this place of learning. Then, the party finally lay their eyes on the actual citadel, not just the cityscape that surrounds it. This fourty floor, beautifully crafted tower, surrounded by a beautiful fountain-filled mote, and incredible sculptures. Zilla and Gore explore options for accommodation and some store goods, Anton inquires about possible entry ways with Ginny at his side, Beau assesses the tall building and potential vulnerabilities, as though he has done so a million times before. Then, Zilla learns of a place at 'The Office', that a questgiver has to offer for adventurers willing to take on his quest. So the part meet Samson and his wife who work in the Citadel.   Beau, Gore, and Anton head to the tavern, an hour outside of town on the main Highway to pick up any rumours related to the Citadel, and they most certainly do. A drunk man gets even more drunk because of Beau's charisma and cunning. He leaks that they study ailment in the Citadel... Including the corruption. Anton makes small talk, catching rumour of a potential Waystone location on the river by Calmar. Zilla and Ginny in the meanwhile, get to know Samson's whife, and ask about Chanelle, a cleaner at the Citadel who they may be able to get in touch with. And so, the parties have begun their quest.
My eyes hovered over the strange new group I was travelling with. Anton was taking notes of the large streets of the Citadel, his beautiful eyes taking in every detail. I probably should have been doing the same, taking notes I mean, but it was always hard to try to enjoy the moment and take it down in my journal simultaneously. Props to him. I could tell he was smart from the moment we met him.   Beau was hard to read. I couldn't tell what he was thinking or feeling. I liked that though. Funnily enough, I have always found it easy to connect with people, to read them, but when I don't, I absolutely love the challenge. Beau seemed sarcastic, blunt, and a bit distant, but I couldn't tell if it was really him, or if he just puts a big wall up.   Zilla, well I like him. He's determined to succed, clearly wants to help people, and is a bit of an idiot. Not that I can talk. I can't exactly remember all the idiotic things he's done, but I remember smiling at him a lot at the circus. Not to mention, he's easy on the eyes, his slick horns and tail, his fiendish grin.   Gore, well sometimes I get startled when I look at Gore and forget who he is. I feel bad, but I can't help it. He litterally wears a skull on his face..
