As a high elf, you have a keen mind and a mastery of at least the basics of magic. In many of the worlds of D&D, there are two kinds of high elves. One type (which includes the gray elves and valley elves of Greyhawk, the Silvanesti of Dragonlance, and the sun elves of the Forgotten Realms) is haughty and reclusive, believing themselves to be superior to non-elves and even other elves. The other type (including the high elves of Greyhawk. the Qualinesti of Dragonlance, and the moon elves of the Forgotten Realms) are more common and more friendly, and often encountered among humans and other races. The sun elves of Faerun (also called gold elves or sunrise elves) have bronze skin and hair of copper, black, or golden blood. Their eyes are golden, silver, or black. Moon elves (also called silver elves or gray elves) are much paler, with alabaster skin sometimes tinged with blue. They often have hair of silver-while, black, or blue, but various shades of blond, brown, and red are not uncommon. Their eyes are blue or green and flecked with gold.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Elves vary in nearly every physical aspects and can have verying skin tones, hair colours, and phenotypal quirks. However, nearly all elves tend to be fair, with pointed ears, and are absurdly beautiful by human standards. They usually have lean and light figures, fine features, and an athletic yet frail build. They averaged heights from 5'4"-6'0" and were lighter, their weight starting at 120lbs-170lbs. They often cannot grow hair on their body beyond the heair on their head, and eyebrows. Of course, there is so much variation in the species that their usual features can vary and be diverse.    Drow have dark complextions, their skin often grey, black, or purple, or perhaps a mix of all three. Their eyes tend to lack pupils, wholely black or white,  tailored to the dark. They tend to have agile bodies, tailored to violence and agaility. Their hair is usually grey or white.    High Elves often have exaggeraed feaures whether it be longer ears, longer and more beautiful hair, slender fingers, and defined facial structures. They usually have flawless skin, never pale or sickly. They lean towards brightly coloured ees such as golden or lightt blue.    Wood eleves tend to have coppery, or pale skin. They usually adopted natural hair tonnes, such as brown, copper red, or blond. Their eyes, often hazel or emerald green.    Moon Elves are often confused for drow with their grey skin tones, but tend to have white eyes, and regularly freckles skin that shines in the moonlight. Their hair is usually black, blue, white, or purple. They exhibit many of the physical traits of high elves in their structure and build.    Sun Elves have flawless complecxions and are said to be the most radiant and beautiful of the elves.their eye and hair colour tends to lean toward sunn colours such as red, cgold, orange, and yellow. They exhibit many of the physical traits of high elves in their structure and build.

Genetics and Reproduction

Elves can reproduce with all kind of other species, but some elves such as high elves have much harder times reproducing.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves live long lives, and while they phsically mature at the same rate as huimans, they are not perceived as maturew in the eyes of other elves until they are at least 100 years old. They could live up to 750 years.

Ecology and Habitats

Besides the high elves and suberannean sub - species, Elves tended to favor woodlands over other terrains, though exceptions existed. Most elven communities were relatively small in size, around a few hundred in number, and blended easily into the natural landscape. These communities were usually very well isolated and as a result contact between elves and outsiders was usually a matter of deliberate contact rather than accidental.   High Elves and Drow tend to buil eleaborate, and intricate kingdoms and architecture, intended to be both beautiful and durable.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Elves were typically omnivorous, like humans, but tended to eat very little meat. This was not so much out of concern for the animal as an effort to make as little of an impact on the natural world as possible, with elves believing that the consumption of vegetation had a lesser impact on natural harmony. Additionally, this partially came from many elven cultures' traditions of nomadic life, which required food to be easily preservable.

Behaviour

Elves who lived among humans, of whom there were many, tended to take on roles that favored the arts, such as minstrels, artists, or sages. Many were also valued as martial instructors, given the elven races' well-known skills with both the bow and the sword.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Elves often have eyes that adjust well in the dark, whether it be their ancient and magical bloodlines, or the fact that some sub-species such as drow have lived most of their life in caves and caacombs entombed in darkness. They tend to be more keen of heir surroundings han the humans, their sight far more potent.    Elves often tend to be dexterous and agile creatures, their bodies hones for combat and nibleness. They move lightly and swiftly through all kinds of terrain.    Additionally, many elves tend to lean towards magic, it innately flowing through their blood. The drow tend to be able to spur to life, apowerful magic that illuminates things in the dark or that are invisible, in a similar way to moon elves. Sun elves are immune to the effects of radiant light and so on. Many elves did not sleep, instead finding their rest in a meditative state called reverie or "trance", which was as restful as true sleep but left them aware of their surroundings. In this state, they achieved the same results as a human might through sleeping in roughly two thirds the time. Elves able to trance were also often resistant to the effects of supernatural powers such as sleep, since they did not themselves sleep but instead rested in a semi-aware state.
