Mari Somesto

Mari Somesto is a man known for only a few things, but his achievements are vast nonetheless. Mari is credited with creating the modern day Tritanix 3 map. He and his spouse, Astaar Somesto, traveled across the known world with the goal of mapping out their world. Mari grew up dreaming of life outside the mountains he grew up in. He would often stare out over the horizon and wondered just how far it stretched, and what life would be like anywhere else. He made the necessary preparations and started the journey by himself. He went from his hometown, down the mountains, and around the coast, drawing out every detail along the way. About halfway through his journey along the ocean, he met Astaar in a small village. Astaar offered to let him stay at their house, and while Mari was there, he fell in love with them. He asked Astaar if they would like to join him, and after minimal hesitation, Astaar agreed. The two of them continued to travel the rest of the journey together, detailing their map and marking down important landmarks along the way. After they had reached the starting point of Mari's original journey, they settled down for a while, before the desire to travel got to Mari yet again. He needed to know what was inside the borders of his world, not just the edges of it. He once again asked Astaar to join him, and once again they said yes. The second adventure proved to be just as difficult as the first, but also just as rewarding. When the final version of the map was revealed, and Mari and Astaar had finally retired, the royalty of all seven nations awarded them with money and praise. Their maps would soon become the global standard for all kingdoms, the Somesto family being praised for how easy they've made traveling for everyone. Mari currently lives in retirement with his spouse and two children in a secluded forest home.
