The Tiefling are the first race to develop a fully-comprehensive early form of language, known modernly as infernal.

After thousands of years of burial ceremonies, the Tiefling focus their efforts on developing a linguistic system that will allow them to give their dearly departed a proper send-off, as well as communicate with them before such ceremonies are required. Perhaps due to their isolation in the desert wastelands, the language of Infernal never caught on further then the Tiefling race.
