Humans

Basic Information

Anatomy

Humans averagely stand between 4-6 feet and vary in builds depending on several factors affecting their growth during maturity. Humans, like most intelligent humanoids on Trinity, have two hands, two feet and one head - although unlike most have a lower magical affinity. Their skin tones, hair colours, facial structures and vocal style all vary greatly depending on their place of origin and the other beings around them.

Genetics and Reproduction

Humans reproduce through a fertilization method that involves two parties, each of the opposite gender. These parties are usually mates for life, and will stay with the child until it is generally matured to the age of 16-20.

Growth Rate & Stages

Humans can take a few initial years to learn to function on a basic level - this includes standing on two legs, talking coherently and consuming food. After this stage, the body begins to focus on maturing itself physically and mentally. Humans can spend up to 16 years completing their bodies maturing stage, but can also spend anywhere as late as 25 years. This stage is considered the Human cycles 'youth', and immediately afterwards the Human can be considered as in their adult cycle. This stage sees the body maintain its structure for anywhere up to the age of 50 before it begins to slowly degrade and wear down the person until they reaching their elder stage of life. Elders of the Human race can live anywhere from 65 years of life to numbers arching over 100 - if the living conditions are right. At any one stage in life Humans can actively work to reach a peak physical state - but this will never occur naturally, for the Human race has evolved to live in conditions ranging from complete safety to on the brink-of-death for the entirety of their lives.

Ecology and Habitats

Humans will often thrive to live in any environment they find themselves in - crafting shelter and establishing sources of food being the most common actions they take. A Humans optimal environment for living in is one that is surrounded by other Humans all in the safety of their constructed 'homes', each with an optimal supply of food and warmth and even a family in which they can live with and protect. Although Humans generally have a disregard for the environment in which they live, some will actively try to make living spaces out of the natural environment as to avoid disturbing the natural ecosystem. If none of the above is true, Humans will often never stay for too long in one place and will travel all over the world until finally reaching their elderly state, at which point they choose a place to live out the rest of their life.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Humans are omnivorous by nature and require a minimum of three meals a day to function at their peak condition. Whilst most Humans rely on the systems of society to acquire and secure foods for these meals others forage from woodlands for foods and animals alike. Humans will often use specialized tools for hunting down such animals, which include traps, weaponry and other animals they have trained to live alongside them (an example being any of a variety of species of dog).

Biological Cycle

Humans sleep during the night and work actively during the day. These activities can include providing for their family, themselves or for people around them. The changing of seasons and climates only alter the way in which Humans live, but will never change the way in which their cyclic lives function. The young will always learn, the mature will always work and the elderly will always pass on their lessons learn't to the young.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Humanity live using a societal structure in which they utilize a currency that is exchanged for goods. This currency, referred to as money by all species of intelligence, is earned through menial tasks conducted through their employment by another Human or species. In this way, Humans word for money, use that money to supply food for themselves and their family, and in spending that money give back to the sources in which they earned it in the first place. This cyclic yet structured nature is what maintains a sense of order in Human society and plays a huge part in separating this society from that of a savage and primal system. Naturally, Humans who possess more money live safer and richer lives from that of those who can barely afford to eat. This difference in living styles separates the wealthy from the poor, and this structure can see Humans of a wealthy nature turn malicious and ill-intent, which will often result in the suffering of Humans of the lower classes. Whilst this remains true for other species, Humans are particularly susceptible to the sins of greed for reasons that can only be tied to their nature as a species - and many will often suffer for their greedy personalities. Humans will often be classified by their work throughout life, one who crafts jewels is refereed to as a jewels-man and likewise a man who hunts for food is a hunter. In the end, the Human society is a gathering of individuals all attempting to procure enough money to enjoy a decent and long-lived life, and some Humans will commit heinous activities or crimes to put themselves in just such a position.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Mind Flayers will often utilize members of the Human species to create their own offspring through their horrific methods of reproduction. Other species will utilize Humans as slaves or workers such as goblins, devils, demons, the list goes on. Humans are also a source of food for many wild animals of horrific monstrosities throughout the world, however Humans are not generally their main source of food - but rather a nice treat from their usual wilderness prey. Perhaps the species that use Humans the most are themselves, as many Humans will employ or exploit other Humans for their own self-gain.

Facial characteristics

Most human Males will grow facial hair around the later age of their maturity, the colour being dependent on their hairs colour. However, all Humans have visible cheekbones, jawlines and eyebrows whose colour is also dependent on their hair. Some Humans, during their stages of maturity, will over consume and lose some of their toned bodily structures, however their facial hair and predominant face structure will always remain. The eyes of humans never stray from three colours, but each colour comes with its own plethora of shades and mixtures. These colours are green, blue and brown, and a few examples of the shades mentioned are hazel, light blue or yellow-green. The eyes are always located below the eyebrows and above the nose, of which the humans use to smell. Noses come in a variety of sizes and shapes, but their function always remains the same. Below the nose are the lips, which are often a pale pink in colour but are sometimes known to show deeper reds with maturity. Similar to the nose, the ears of a Human will often vary in the way they hang, bu how much they are attached, and by their general shape - but like the nose, they will always be the Humans source for hearing. Lastly human have approximately 30 teeth, 15 on the top of the jaw and 15 on the bottom, which are pearly white from birth - but depending on their given care throughout life can give a yellow tint to their surface and even worse - create holes and cavities of a dirty, black colour. A lot can be gathered from a Human by their facial characteristics, especially ones teeth, but each has a critical function in the way the Human lives, and if any one of these functions is lost - the Human lives a very different life from most.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Humans can be found all over the realms of Trinity, however they tend to coalesce in towns established by Humans originally for Humans. Many can be found wandering the wilds and living freely - although where one can find civilization, one will often find Humans.

Average Intelligence

The average Human intelligence is often one that can plan, prepare and scheme for anything life throws at them - and with varying degrees of success depending on the Human.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Humans depend on their five main sensors to interact with the world around them. These senses are touch, smell, sight, sound and taste - all equally as crucial when determining the imminent safeties and dangers of the world. Magical abilities can work to heighten these sensors - but never expand on them.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Humans of Trinity are most commonly named by their parents, who will provide the son or daughter with a name often not already belonging to a defined existence. Some common examples include Henry, George, Mary and Julie. Due to the workings of society, if a family is wealthy enough they may purchase a last name by which their family will be known by - and this act in itself is a rare occurrence often only affordable by nobles or royalty. The last name will often be a name that already defines a pre-existing object, most commonly one of value. An example of such a last name is Beryl, a jewel found in the earth, this name happens to also be the last name of the current king of Erysea - Lucretia's capital.

Major Organizations

Erysea is the largest kingdom on the continent of Lucretia and was established by Humans back during the Years of Foundation. It is additionally the largest kingdom ruled by a Human family and is home to many races humanoid in nature.
Like all other races of Trinity, Humans choose to follow the Gods Eyla, Lucretia and Istus. The humans were one of the three founding races behind the major faction Divinity, which is currently lead by the Human cleric Joseph. This organization is never in one city for long, but its home base is stationed in the Eyla Southerlands Capital City (WIP).

Beauty Ideals

Humans are infatuated with mounds of gold, jewels and great works of art. In the eye of Human society, any man whose home is equipped with as fine a jewels as those who decorate his spouse's neck is at the peak of his lives work. But, its not always the riches that a Human wears to dinner that define them as beautiful within the Human definition. Each Human has preferred characteristics for another Human to posses before they even consider labeling them attractive in their minds own eye. Each individual aspect of a Human can be judged and analysed by another in its species, with anything as simplistic as the colour of ones hair all the way to the mannerisms in which they speak. Perhaps most commonly, however, is the physical shape ones torso takes. A women with rounded hips and curved features may catch the eyes of most the men in the room, but that woman may look only towards the man in the far corner with the defined chest and shoulders. In this manner the exact opposite can be true - Humans each have a specific value they yearn for in a partner - and this often shapes the entire society's beauty ideals in ways that are often unrealistic and rare-sought. In some cases, Humans will judge another's beauty in the way they are as a personality - which can range anywhere from the way they treat others to the goals they have for themselves in life. Human Beauty is not any one particular thing, but rather the culmination of all things that make them Human.

Gender Ideals

In Human society, the ideal male is one who can protect and provide for his family. This can range from having the riches, the strength, or the connections to achieve such a quota. Whilst this ideal is true of most society, there are still those with their own personalized ideals who defy the socially acceptable standard. This is especially true for the female ideal, for this will often change depending on which individual you ask. The most common responses are an ideal that is equivalent of the males or one that is focused entirely on providing for the male of the family. Only such an imbalance of ideals is present in the Human society, as through the ages the female gender has had to push for their strengths and qualities to be equal to that of the males - and most of society can see this... most.

Relationship Ideals

The ideal Human relationship will see two members of the species mate for life - regardless of gender. Although some relationships will split or break, Humans will most often move on to seek their lives true partner. However, some Humans care not for the species and are quite happy to seek a relationship in other species of Trinity.

Average Technological Level

Humans have only progressed technologically as far as their knowledge into the weave has allowed. This technology could be considered as reliant on fuels such as oils and minerals, but with enough adaptation as to be on the cusp of developing gunpowder-based weaponry.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Humanity speaks common as their base language, and will only expand their vocabulary if the individual wills it so. The accents in which their common is delivered does however vary greatly depending on where the individual grew up.

Common Dress Code

Humans generally wear clothing to conceal all parts of their bodies with the exception of the face and hands, and whilst there isn't any one particular style of fashion - there is a defined line between what is socially acceptable and what is not.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

The human celebration of Founders Day celebrates the first day in which light was brought to the city of Erysea. Whilst it is the only major Human celebration directly linked to their cultural history, Humans do celebrate several smaller events individual to each person. The day of one's birth, the coming of age, and marriage anniversaries are all the most common examples of the days Humanity tend to celebrate. Compared to the other races of Trinity, Humanities cultures could be considered bland, basic and widely acceptable by people of all cultural backgrounds. The only cultural celebration of any real merit is the changing of seasons, which is not a celebration undergone solely by Humanity, but also with the Elves. This is a celebration that has been undergone since the two races first met back during Erysea's founding age, and will be celebrated for as long as the two races uphold peace and prosperity.

Historical Figures

Kenzo Beryl - The Founding Father of Erysea.

Common Myths and Legends

During an age unknown, an ugly myth surfaced that Humans actually came from somewhere not originally of this world. Their seeming lack of affinity for magic is something exclusive to their species, and many outside races will often put down members of the species for this fact. It is believed only the Founding Father had the answer to this age old mystery, as no recorded activity involving humans dates before his existence.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Humans were stereo-typically viewed as greedy and selfish creatures, that which had no regard for the well-being and safety of the people with which they allied. This was until Kenzo Beryl, the Founding Father of Erysea, welcomed the elves into Erysea before the long winter of (WIP). This event not only cleaned up the superstition about Humanity made from the outside observers, but also paved the path for a long and mighty alliance that resulted in the establishment of the Changing of Seasons. Since this event, races which hold power in the material plane know Humanity to be greedy, selfish creatures... but not all of them. Many are actually selfless, caring people who would do anything to keep their friends and family safe - something many believe they learned on that crucial day many years ago.

Average Physique
The average physique of humans is slender and tall, yet many exist that defy these stereotypes. Some have burly builds with muscles to boot whilst others have rounded bellies and shorter physiques. These body types are not limited to any one gender, for both the Males and Females can be equally as burly or round.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Human flesh can come in a variety of pigments, none are as extreme or vibrant as the primary colours but are a more mellow and subtle colour. Human skin comes not so much as a distinct colour, but as a variety of tones that never stray too far from the defining colour. Examples of this include, black, brown, yellowish pink and white. Whilst Humans don't have any distinct religious or cultural markings upon their skin from birth, many will choose to adopt marking onto their skin later in life, with each marking usually relating to a group, organization or faith in which they believe in and/or dedicate themselves to. The human hair comes in colour more varied then their skin, and can be changed through the usage of various dyes created throughout Trinity. The basic colours are black, brown, blonde, orange, grey and white - and like their skin also come in a variety of tones surrounding their base colours. During growth, Human hair has been known to rarely change - although change can still occur. Additionally, Human hair can have splashes or streaks of a different colour all together - but when the Human reaches its elderly stage its hair will almost always turn a grey or white colour.
