Wattyler

Titles: The Terr Rebel, The Rooster, The false god

Domains: War, Tempest, Grave

Symbol: A crimson rooster head

Personality: Wattyler is the god who shouts back. He teaches that one must not ask permission to be free. He is sharp-tongued, proud, and endlessly furious. But he is not senseless. Like the rooster before the dawn, his rage is a herald of change, not chaos. He favors the bold. All those who confront oppression not just with violence, but with everything they have with clarity and purpose. His lessons are sung in fields, painted in blood, and whispered behind barns.

He reminds the downtrodden not that they can rise, but that they must.

Worship and Clergy:

Wattyler has no clergy in the noble sense. His "priests" are agitators, smiths turned saboteurs, and mothers who hide stolen blades beneath the hearth. His worship is illegal across all of the Oligarchy, and is passed down through rhyme and coded story.

Rituals are often marked with a red crest, a simple smear of dye or blood across the head, mimicking the rooster’s comb. Fires are lit, and oaths are sworn in the ashes. His blessings are said to manifest as clarity before a rebellion, courage in the moment before death, or the unshakable certainty that one’s cause is just.

Cultural impact: To Nobles, Wattyler is a cautionary tale and a dire threat. They tell stories of him to frighten children "Keep the serfs in line or the rooster will come for you" they claim. To the serfs, he is more than myth. He is the roar in their souls, the fire in their bellies, the will to strive for more.

In secret, serfs carve roosters into fenceposts or stitch red threads into collars. "When the rooster crows, the world must wake" is a common phrase among the discontented and down trodden. His name is passed in coded phrases, often accompanied by a single crowing sound.

Some even say he walks again, not as a god, but as a spirit in many. Possessing the hearts of leaders in times of upheaval.
