Origins & Fall from Grace:

Star-ahd was not always the Warden of the Damned.

He was created by Carrijon, the Damned God, to aid in the passage and guidance of souls into the afterlife—a trusted extension of divine will. Charismatic, silver-tongued, and brilliant, Star-ahd was entrusted with great responsibility. But behind his composure lay ambition. He sought to rise higher, crafting a secret pact designed to twist the balance of death in his favor.

His deception might have succeeded—if not for Rae-Diant, who saw through his layered motives and exposed him before the deal could be sealed.

Enraged, Carrijon cast Star-ahd down, banishing him to Baroe-via, a plane of reflection and punishment. There, Star-ahd was chained to the very role he once wielded with grace—no longer as a guide, but as a jailer. He was made Warden of the damned, condemned to serve for eternity in the place meant for those who betray the divine order.

Baroe-via: The Distorted Afterland:

Baroe-via is not a place of flame or torment in the traditional sense. It is worse.

A land of shifting fog and decaying echoes, Baroe-via reflects all the failings, fears, and fractured truths of those sent there. Roads loop impossibly. Time bends backward. Nothing is stable—except suffering. Here, souls are forced to confront their sins not through pain, but through reflection, compulsion, and collapse. The environment itself seems to know what they deserve and delivers it in endless, poetic cruelty.

While Star-ahd rarely intervenes directly, he is said to watch every inch of Baroe-via. If a soul resists their penance or seeks escape, he finds them. And he never arrives slowly.

Depiction & Worship:

Star-ahd is depicted as a regal figure of pale decay, with fine robes that rot at the hem, a crown of bone and thorns, and a flawless mask that hides no expression. His symbol is a downward-pointing blade intersecting a closed eye, representing judgment without compassion.

There are very few formal temples to Star-ahd. He is neither loved nor celebrated. His name is spoken most often by those who know their guilt, whispered in the last hours of life in hopeless pleas for mercy.

The grand Temple of the Final Veil in Belldyard is dedicated primarily to Carrijon, but also holds a shrine to Star-ahd. It is there that condemned souls and executioners alike may kneel—not for hope, but to acknowledge the pain to come.

Relation to Other Gods:

Carrijon – Creator and jailer. Star-ahd serves in eternal bondage as a living punishment for his betrayal—a trusted soul turned into a warning. His role in Baroe-via is both his duty and his unending reminder of all he once had and lost.

Rae-Diant – The goddess of peace and light who saw through his ambitions. Star-ahd’s hatred for her is legendary, but it is whispered he also mourns what he lost because of her.
