Order of the Gilded Chain

One of the Knightly Orders.

Lead by Bullion Soverign

Among the many knightly orders of the realm, none are as reputable as the Order of the Gilded Chain. Sworn to uphold the highest virtues of knighthood—honor, courage, and duty—they wear golden chains upon their shoulders, a mark of the burden they bear and the vow that binds them.

The Oath of the Chain

Every knight of the Order recites the sacred vow upon their induction:

"By the weight of the chain of gold I wear upon me,

By the white of the cloth about my body bound,

By the spurs on my heels, I do swear upon my honor

To uphold the knightly virtues till I lay beneath the ground."

The Order’s training follows a sacred progression, mirrored in the lives of the knights who came before:

• The Watching Years – As children, those that dream of joining the ranks are taken in at a young age. Depending on their age, they will start a general education before being allowed to become a squire

• The Squire’s Trial – When the children come of age, a knight will choose them and begin their training as squires.

• The Shield-Brother's Charge – After sufficient time has passed and the Knight is pleased with their progress, They become Sheild-Brothers. As Shield-Brothers, they fight along side the knights as infantry.

• The Knight’s Oath – At last, once they have commit a great dead, they kneel before the Order's leader. Pledging themselves fully to the Order and the ideals it upholds, becoming a full fledge knight.

The Purpose of the Order

The knights of the Gilded Chain serve the Noble class and offer their services to any house in need to maintaining law and order. For a generous donation of course. The Order not only takes in nobles that fail to find their place in their houses, but also is known to recruit from the Serf population, to much controversy
