Rampant

Rampant are easier to deal with than most Spell-Touched, as their magical natures make themselves very obvious. However, they are dangerous in settlements as they can often lose control of their abilities and cause unchecked elemental disasters. While it might seem that they would find regular work as healers, the energy they channel is often unpredictable or a combination of types, meaning that they may intend to heal someone but accidentally burn them at the same time. The Rampant usually have a particular elemental type they are most closely attuned to, and will cause localised elemental effects. They will have signs of a mix of elements in their appearance and features, making them difficult to distinguish from Genasi and other elementally-touched peoples. Where Genasi always embody one single element, however, Rampant may attune themselves more strongly to different elements across their lives, or seek to create a balance of the energies within themselves. There are even a few who focus on channelling positive energy first and foremost, shining beacons of life who are often mistaken for Aasimar.   Rampant will often take on vocations that allow them to be around their native elements more, such as miner, blacksmith or sailor. However, they are considered to be somewhat of a curse by the superstitious - and not without reason. The elements themselves seem attracted to the Rampant and they are more likely to cause storms, wildfires and subsidence if they stay in one area for too long. The Rampant tend to organise themselves according to need and preference: there are Rampant trade companies who sail the Silt Sea and down the Runoff to the Scree, a group who inhabit the area near the Blazes and forge beautiful goods in the flames there, and a monastery who live atop the mountain range near to Gorlincks and seek to understand and harness their abilities, bringing their elemental energies into perfect balance with one another.
