Iron-Minds

Highly valuable and feared, the Iron-Minds are Spell-Touched who have the ability to Enchant others. For the unscrupulous, this is a stunningly powerful ability, but many Iron-Minds come to hate their own natures. Since their words carry magical weight unless they have supreme control over their powers, it can be incredibly difficult for them to know whether they have influenced someone. For this reason, most Iron-Minds seek out partners with their own supernatural resistance to charming effects. While their ability to influence others is not direct control, it breeds paranoia in a way that many find uncomfortable. The Iron-Minds' name comes from their unusually strong wills. They are nearly impossible to charm or mind-control and will be much more able to notice these kinds of effects on themselves and others. The Iron-Mind community is stronger and more coherent than that of the other Spell-Touched, as they have to be very careful. While there are always outliers, for the most part Iron-Minds will seek to bring about peace rather than war and defuse situations where they can - after all, they know how easy it can be to tip things into chaos. King Can is known for employing Iron-Minds in the Scree Guard, partly because they can break up fights quickly and peacefully, and partly because he's pretty damn certain he wants them on his side rather than anyone else's. There are rumours that the Yuan-Ti Pureblood rulers of Gorlincks have been doing experiments on their kin to see whether they can replicate the abilities of the Iron-Minds.
