Windblade

"Your rank will not save you if I'll found out you're harming people for your own satisfaction."

Windblade is an enigmatic Autobot with exceptional sword mastery skills. Her attacks are swift and well calculated, leaving little chances for her opponent. She's quiet, keeping her distance from others, though sometimes exceptions can be made as she befriended Bumblebee very quickly. Despite her distance, she's protective of Autobots, especially of close friends, and will not hesitate to attack whoever dares to threaten their lives.   Windblade always seems serious, but in the right company, she releases her inner gremlin to go out for fun and even to cause mischief. She's curious about the world around her, always looking out for any signs and relics of older times, especially anything connected to her homeworld - Caminus. She's last forged cybertronian right before its Cityformer Protector died, making her a Cityspeaker without a city to speak for.   Thanks to her ESPER ability, she can sense the presence of others in the distance which makes it hard to ambush her.   Her moral compass is in right place, and will not blindly follow orders. She's not afraid to disobey or even challenge the Autobot High Command if she believes they are doing more harm than good. Thankfully, since Optimus became the Prime, situations like this don't happen often.   She is involved in the psychology and psychiatric field and uses her abilities to help people with their mental problems, including dealing with the effects of mnemosurgery.   Windblade was forged diurnal, but since she began hanging out with Bumblebee, her lifestyle is gradually shifting towards nocturnal.

Appearance

  Windblade is a petite cybertronian jet with bright red, blue, and black plating with gold and white accents.   Her face plating is white with red lips and red Cityspeaker markings under her optics. Optics are light blue, with diamond-shaped pupils. The top and sides of the head are black, ornamented with golden elements, resembling head accessories like hair clips. Two little blue vents are connected to each side.   Each shoulder is covered by layered black and blue shoulder pads, her chest is a red and blue stripe in the middle. Her wings are fairly big and have vertical take-off turbines. They are mostly red with black, white, and blue accents. The Autobot insignia is displayed on each wing. The golden parts of the wings form "ribbons" when she's in root-mode and pretty flexible and flowy. The jet cockpit is on her back. Arms are light gray, followed by red and blue forearms and ending with black hands.   The sword is known as "Stormfall" is attached to her left side. It resembles a katana with a blue glowing black, which is resting in the red and blade sheathe.   Her legs are mostly red, with black, grey, and white accents. Parts of the jet tail attached to her shins, while jet engines located inside her legs. The ends of engines are severing as heels in root-mode.   Like most jets, she can move her wings, often using them to emote.

Personal History

An Unlike Connection

Windblade was resting in Medbay when Bumblebee was brought in. She wakes up after he had his first forced reboot and Ratchet asked her to watch him while he and Optimus gonna check on Wheeljack. When the minibot wakes up, they quickly bond over the fact they both have corrupted memory which was possibly caused by Shockwave testing another of his devices on the battlefield. Like Bumblebee, Windblade doesn't remember several hours before this moment.   She gets sad when she talks about Canimus, but Bumblebee brings her mood up. They quickly become friends.   She spends a lot of time with him and slowly opens up about things she usually doesn't talk about. One time, Bumblebee asks her if anyone else has telepathy like her. She told him that she's the last Cityspeaker because all Cityspeakers were executed at the end of the Golden Era, while she was forged during the war. Bumblebee is horrified by this, asking why they were punished like this. Windblade only knows that they were contacted by someone and some of the elites didn't like that. She mourns over the fact she was forged right before Caminus perished, and being a Cityspeaker without a city to speak for.   Bumblebee hugs her to comfort her. Windblade feels better and relieved that she found a kindred spirit like Bumblebee because the way he described his powers, to her it sounds very similar to hers, which makes her less lonely. Even suggesting that he could become a Cityspeaker too.   That made Bumblebee wonder if their powers are similar, maybe he can communicate with others like she does, which prompts her to suggest how to do that. After few attempts he succeeds, though it was short-lived as he couldn't do the same with Jazz, implying he needs more training. Windblade agrees to train him.   Chromia noticed, that since Windblade began hanging out with Bumblebee, she became more socially adjusted.

Abilities

  In root-mode, Windblade possesses exceptional sword-wielding skills which combined with her agility and flight turns into the deadly mix. She's fast and calculating, always keeping her optics on the opponent waiting for the opening. She is known for doing unexpected stuff that often throws her enemies of loop, including, but not limited to:
  • Mounting her sword to her leg;
  • Stepping on the opponent's weapon, interrupting their attack;
  • Using her vertical take-off turbines to create a strong air current that blows her opponent off their feet;
  • Fire her heels when kicking;
  • Wingbash.
As Camien, she's an excellent swimmer and can echolocate.   In alt-mode, while being small for a jet, she's an incredibly fast and maneuverous flyer. As VTOL jet she can easily hang in the midair, which alows aiming with her plasma canons easier and more accurately without a need to take speed to account to hit the target in some cases. She can easily carry smaller bots on her, which comes in handy when it's time to pick Bumblebee off a dangerous location. Her engines are powerful enough to resist strong air currents, allowing her comfortable flying in storms.

ESPER

  Windblade has ESPER ability called Mind Telepathy. It allows her to sense the consciousness of sapient beings in her vicinity. She can judge the distance to them and which direction they're moving. She can communicate with others, sending messages directly into their mind which prevents those messages to be intercepted by the enemy.   She's considered a pretty strong Cityspeaker, as he can easily read minds with little concentration. It comes in handy during the fight when he uses it to predict her opponent's next move.   She can also enter the minds of others without any cords, visiting their Mindscape - a subdimension of one's mind which has a direct connection to memory banks and often reflect one's personality and likes.   Such strong ESPER prevents any manipulations with her mind, such as mnemosurgery, and might end up badly for the manipulator. Her memory loss is the exception to this, which makes it a mystery that yet to be solved.

Weaknesses

Physical

Currently, it's unknown if she posses any serious physical weaknesses.

Mental

Windblade's aloofness can be described as no knowing how to approach people. She's socially awkward and might even get nervous around new people, which reinforced by her struggles of belonging, thinking that others might find her annoying and unlikable. Somehow Bumblebee managed to get around this quickly, but it's probably because he's such a nice bot. That's why she follows him a lot, feeling he's the only bot around she managed to form a connection with. Bumblebee in return helps her to be more socially adjusted and even make few more friends.   She often suffers from "out of sight, out of mind" forgetfulness, as she easily loses things or even forgets about their existence if they are not in plain sight. Her room looks quite chaotic and disorganized because of this. She also forgets something if she gets distracted, and struggles to keep track of time.   Windblade is often restless, and it makes it hard to rest when she's bored which often leads her to seek stimulation that might lead to dangerous situations.

Relationships

Bumblebee

Bumblebee and Windblade are very close, that someone might think that they're in a romantic relationship, but it's not the case. Bumblebee is aromantic and Windblade is somewhere on this spectrum, which makes their love for each other 100% platonic.   She's very protective of him and would not take kindly if someone dares to hurt him. With him, she feels at ease, she can be herself without maintaining her serious facade. She would often, with his consent, enter his mind to talk about things she wanna keep in secret. They often vising her's as well. She's aware of Bumblebee's struggles and trying her best to help him to manage the impact of his insecurities and forgotten trauma.   Of course, she will join Bumblebee on his shenanigans, spreading chaos, especially on the battlefield. She takes him skydiving as Bumblebee has a strong itch to fly sometimes.

Chromia

Chromia is Windblade's teacher and pretty much a caretaker. She is the reason why Windblade has such amazing sword mastery skills. They care for each other, even if often they have a hard time understanding each other.

Slipstream

It seems to be that Windblade and Slipstream are rivaling each other every time they cross paths on the battlefield. Nobody knows why, but it might get intense as they fight.

Bludgeon

Windblade's arch-nemesis, as he always seeks her out to fight as he sees her as the only worthy opponent in sword mastery.

Trivia

  • Windblade's design is mostly based on one from Cyberverse with a bit of G1. Her wings were inspired by Flametoys concept.
