Leoril's mother Iralil fell in love with a fisherman (Ogden) from Oldpass and moved to Mertle.
Leoril is a kind and noble person, but is seriously overworked and doesn't have time for idle talk or nosy adventurers which aren't willing to help.
If the party offers to help, he is willing to send them on a quest to deal with some undead in a crypt outside of Mertle. (6 mi out of town to N/E along the Whistlemead river)
These undead were raised by the MoM as a distraction for the guards. The increased fishing presence in the area lead some fishermen to disturb the crypt and now fishermen are going missing as they are attacked by risen skeletons/zombies)
