The Eastmarch Academy

The Eastmarch Academy is known as the oldest institution of learning within the continent of Totalis Terra. Founded in the Elven city of Ircantripious by the Archmage Evelyn Ir'thelian, the purpose of the Academy was to collect and pass on magical, political, and historical knowledge to future generations.   Layout The Academy is a self-contained center of learning for students of various disciplines, though it is best known as an Academy of Magic. The Academy grounds are walled off from the rest of the city of Iracan and sits on the edge of the Orson Lake. The Academy itself is subdivided into the following areas:   The Quarter Dorms A series of interconnected buildings on the north side of the campus grounds, the Quarter Dorms house both Students and Faculty of the Academy in connected wings. The Dorms are self-contained, have a resident staff, and provide meals, board, and even study and practice areas to students and faculty of the college.   Eve Hall The central building at the front of the main Academy, Eve Hall is a large, ornate hall and atrium that serves as the welcome area, study area, and sometimes practice area of the academy. From the main hall, which rises two levels and is centered around a large, ornate silver statue of the Academy's founder, students and visitors can access the various other areas of the campus, and the hall is known as the only public-facing part of the college, with the remainder of the campus being restricted to visitors.   The Glade Something of a misnomer, the Glade is an outdoor practice areas positioned northwest of the Quarter Dorms used for archery and magical practice.   The Chilled Halls The main area of learning in the Academy, the Chilled Halls were named for the icy stone used to make the structure, which glimmers blue and seems to hold no heat. Each room is fitted with a large fireplace or hearth to combat the chill. The Halls are comprised of several large and small classroom, lecture halls, and faculty offices.   Library Exar The repository of knowledge at the Academy, the Exar Library is administered by Archivist Orthos, an aged Tiefling who watches the tomes contained within with a hawk's eye. a total of three levels, with interconnected stairs and balconies and rows upon rows of shelves, the Library is known to contain the most collected magical knowledge of anywhere on the continent.   The Ring of Kartan An exhibition Arena both used for practical classes, and at times, for large displays of magical prowess which invite the city of Iracan to watch, the Ring of Kartan was built after the rise of the original members of the Myst Kartan, only one of whom remains, as a way to display their power. Over time, it has become common use to hold exhibitions for foreign dignitaries, and to show off the skills of talented students Academy instructors, and sometimes the members of the Myst Kartan themselves.   Current Faculty:   Headmaster Ereth Vahn, Archmage of Public Instruction - Elven, man - Deceased
