Fire Dragonling

"...why do you have feathers in your hat?"
"It's the latest trend from the city!"
"It looks stupid."
"Oh shut it, you know nothing! It's feathers from the Fire Dragonling!"
The latest fashion trend that has taken Tosormi with storm is hats and clothes with feathers from the Fire Dragonling. These were used by mostly the Lomian Imperic family and other nobles when they arrived in Tosormi and found the Dragonling. When the Empire was kicked out, people of the new higher classes started using them as well since they were no longer restricted by the nobles.

Basic Information

Anatomy

These small dragons are less than a metre in length, with four legs with paws and a long tail. They have skin from their front paws to their sides which is used for glide flying instead of proper wings, and their tail is feathered to help with stearing. They also have feathers around their head and paws.

Ecology and Habitats

The dragonling lives in warm forests where it hunts small reptiles and mammals from the trees. It climbs trees with ease thanks to its sharp claws and the ability to turn their back feet backwards so it can climb both up and down, using the trees to look for prey. They then jump from the tree and glide through the air to attack from above.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Though they do prefer meat, the Fire Dragonling also eats eggs, nuts and fruits they find in the trees.

Ahhh these sound so cute! I'm sad that they are rare in the wild but are thriving in captivity. <3

Yeah, since the feathers got expensive, they were hunted quite harshly in the wild ^^' But at least they survive!
