Personal history
Tarik was born on the second Silverday of The Flowering/The Wandering Sun, in the coastal city of Cymera. He is the youngest of four children – three boys and a girl. His father is a human and his mother an elf. Tarik’s father is a high-ranking scribe at the Fora Cymera, and his mother is a buyer for a silk importer. Tarik got his love of fine clothes and food from his mother and her elvish family, and his interest in reading and exploration from his father, who taught the children to read at an early age.
Tarik’s childhood was a very happy one. He enjoyed school and did well, without having to work particularly hard. His bigger brothers and sisters at first protected him from the rougher boys in his class, but he soon learned that he could use his charm to get his way with teachers and pupils alike. As Tarik grew up, he realized he preferred men, but this was no trouble as Delvian society is quite relaxed in this way.
At the age of 18, Tarik went to the capital, Delaria, to study at the university there. He had ambitions to work in the textiles business like his mother. While at university, Tarik shared rooms with Malaki, an elf from Erosse. They became firm friends and sometimes lovers, and spent their nights working far harder in the pursuit of pleasure than they ever did at their studies. At the end of their three years of study, the boys were both offered lucrative jobs with wine merchants in Ampharae.
By lucky chance, Tarik's new employer was as much of a hedonist as Tarik, and soon he recommended the young man to his own Guild - the Guild of Cartographers and Explorers. Tarik found a natural home in this group of fellow pleasure-seekers and used his charm and undeniable talent in witty conversation to quickly become a shining light in the Guild.
The handsome young man caught the eye of Karian himself - and the rest is history!
Gender Identity
Tarik is very happy with his male body and likes to do press-ups and sit-ups every day to keep his abs in top shape. However, he also loves experimenting with typically "feminine" things such as fashion, make-up and braiding his hair.
Sexuality
Chaotic horny! Tarik is openly gay and very confident in his body and skills in the bedroom (or anywhere, to be honest) and is not afraid to approach men. At the moment he is not looking for a permanent partner, and is more open sexually than emotionally.
Education
University of Delaria: fine arts
Employment
Piemonte's Fine Wine Emporium: junior salesman
Accomplishments & Achievements
Working with his friends in the party to rescue Ferndale from Gorvasc's evil plots.
Failures & Embarrassments
Getting locked up in Ferndale jail for attempting to sleep with Captain Twm Morgan, who already has a boyfriend.
Being aged 50 years and having to enter into a pact with a Lawful Good priestess in order to regain his good looks.
Mental Trauma
Tarik is very resilient - or perhaps he just hasn't learned to open up yet emotionally. However, he was privately very upset to have to kill the mother of Martel, a man he slept with, when she turned into a werewolf.
Intellectual Characteristics
Tarik is clever and creative. He enjoys artistic activities of most kinds, whether a high-class play or a night of filthy ballads sung by a village bard in an equally filthy tavern. He can be quite judgemental of "stars" of the stage, who in his opinion do not have the necessary talent to be there...
Morality & Philosophy
Tarik is fundamentally a good man, although sometimes his love of pleasure leads him to be rather selfish and ego-centric. He cares for his friends in the party and particularly admires the glamorous mage Arane. He would always seek to help those he cares about. Tarik despises bullies and those who pick on people who are "different" in some way.
