Bettany Bettancourt

Duchess Bettany Bettancourt, is a freebooter, wandering adventurer noble who is a companion and close friend to Princess Maria of Tarsis. She is a skilled swashbuckler, despite never having sailed on the seas, choosing instead to adopt their tactics and style of combat to land battles. Despite her fairly poor duchy of Wander, she has managed to bring in significant funds through her adventuring in her youth and to date. Her people tend to hero worship her, and groups named Bettany's Riders, a large unit of young knights and commoners alike, are often found in every settlement ready to ride to her banner at a moment's notice. She delegates a great deal of the daily running of Wandernot to her council of advisors, preferring her hunting for foes of Wander.
