Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Aranē is of middling height for a drow, lithe and sharp-featured, with wavy white hair usually braided tightly. Less easy to hide are her sharp, pale blue eyes (all the better to perceive you with, darling). There's an economy to her movement, grace borne of intense and intent focus. Absolute comfort in the shadows doesn't hurt, of course.
Her most distinguishing feature, though, is perhaps the long surcoat she wears over more utilitarian travelling attire. Heavy black fabric covered in intricate black embroidery, it's the marker of a Nux journeyman -- privileged knowledge but not secret, though if you don't know she's unlikely to volunteer it.

Personal history
A devotee of the Weaver, and journeyman cleric of the Nux, Aranē keeps her own agenda and own opinions. Despite her affinity for secrets and shadows, and a nature which tends to obsession, balance is the principle that guides her: it is, in fact, everything.
Born and raised in Far Ellysyme, some months ago she and six brethren were sent out their order to uncover what they could from whispers gathering around a threat to Araushnee and those who serve her. They quickly separated, the better to work, Aranē following leads on a cult of decay found recurring along her path -- and ending up an unwilling guest of a high cultist.
A devotee of the Weaver in pursuit of secrets, Aranē first encountered the party whilst the prisoner of a cult of decay. The cleric's agenda is her own (and only partially shared), but at present her interests and the party's seem rather aligned.
