The Platinum Order

The Platinum Order is currently situated in an almost inaccessible region of the Smoking Mountains in eastern Faerûn, between the nations of Unther and Tymanther.
Risen from slaves and equal parts militaristic and theocratic, their belief in the Platinum Dragon once fueled their state's expansion for generations. Their origins can be traced back to some of the first clans of Skelkor, prior to the collision of Albeir and Torril. The events following the Blue Breath of Change only added more religious fervor to their ruling parties. They saw the collision of the realms, and their incredible survival after, as a sign they were the Platinum Clan, chosen by the shining dragon god itself, Bahamut .
For the early and formative years of the clans existence they were indeed champions of the Platinum Dragon as he rose from deity to godhood.
Unbeknownst to all, the toiling of magics prior to the fall of Mystra begin to deteriorate the fabric that bound the Platinum One to his clan. During this time his servants felt sporadic disconnections from their faith, offerings would go unanswered, and prayers unheard. Before long, the time between miracles and sightings of his Seven Wyrms increased until they all but diminished.
The High Order claim that the Godhead has never ceased to communicate to them; those in the know worry dark secrets will overthrow the absolute power they hold over their people. Contrary to what they proclaim, true signs and communications with the Platinum Dragon were severed generations ago.
The power of a God can ebb and flow and for an active god such as Bahamut his need for servants can change as well. It was during a particularly quiet few years that some of the high priests grew desperate for contact. Instead of patiently and obediently waiting for His voice, those in the highest reaches of power attempted to reach above this realm and force an audience with Bahamut.
Their attempts for months in the beginning were equivalent to shooting in the dark.
What their naïve selfish actions were not informed of though, was that one does not just simply message the god of dragons.
