Halimath Galanodel

Elderly elven man, a renowned abjuration wizard, and one of the original professors at the Torrentha Academy (now happily retired). Seems to have been a long-time friend of the Academy's dragons, including having crafted their (incredibly magically powerful) anniversary rings. Went missing shortly after the harvest festival, thus became the primary subject of the party's quest in the capitol city of Ixlyria. He was found to have been arrested (at the time peacefully) on accusations of treason, but without any trial date set. During a chaplain visit with Colidin, he was able to be taken out from under an anti-magic field for just long enough to teleport away from captivity, with his escape starting an escalation of events that eventually led to outright war. Since his escape, he as been working side-by-side with the academy dragons behind the scenes, trying to remain within the safety of their lair while still contributing his high-level wizardry to give aid as he is able.
He is the crafter of the "Eight of Eights", a set of four pairs of rings bearing permanent enchantments of 8th level spells, namely Mind Blank (Audraith's and Jadvigal's rings), Control Weather (one of which belongs to the station of the Torrentha Archdruid), Telepathy (one of which is now in use by Hypatia), and Demiplane (currently in use by Alethramach and Planimrest's mafia boss).
