Malubris Town

Malubris town is an old, mildewed settlement on the northwestern shores of the Torr region. Malubris Town is extremely haunted. It is full of mist, and even more mist is present in the spirit world. There are few real people, and the few that remain vendors and citizens are just actually dead. The Curio shop definitely does not sell ghostly things. The streets of the town are lined with hanging lanterns that give off very little light, and the few well-lit areas are avoided by the residents. The terror of the Doctor looms over this town, but despite that, the population ignores him as best they can to go about their normal lives.

Defences

Guarding the town as a whole, and Romero's laboratory in specific, is a pack of Hoothoot led by Romero's own Noctowl. Noctowl has been given some specific upgrades by Romero, most notably its brainwashing capability that it uses to control a Tangrowth when it needs more power for its schemes. Using Tangrowth and its pack, Noctowl ensnares any who approach the lab, drains them of energy, and deposits them back in town.

Districts

The Forest is mostly pine trees, full of mist, and considered to be extremely dangerous. Patrols from Phantom Labs roam the woods, and staying in bright spots for too long practically guarantees being kidnapped. The shopping street is a quiet affair, lined with lanterns and mostly uninhabited. The only people around are the Nurse Joy, who preforms her duties almost robotically, and an old sea captain who sells curiosities. The Port was once the center of the city, but now boats rest among the fog on the docks, looming forth like the bones of some terrible slain beast. The port is almost completely unused, except for the captain, who takes periodic trips into the water on his rowboat.

History

The town was once a normal fishing village, until Phantom Labs moved in and began experimenting. One of their last experiments brought in the fog, and before the people could complain, the Phantom Labs building underwent a meltdown. Town rumors suggest that a swarm of enraged spirits burst from the building, but this is unreliable as no one seem to actually remember. The lab is now mostly abandoned, but some say scientists still visit to preform dark science.
