First, there was only he, the Father of all life. The Father, in his curiosity and desire to share his existence, created the realm of Helvell. The realm was a paradise: without death, disease, war, famine, and hatred. The Father filled his realm with what he called the “Mortillis.” The Father built himself and the Mortillis villages for them to sing and dance with one another. Where they could praise their Father for giving them life and mingle with him. In the eons that passed the Father continued to build upon Helvell, bringing vast oceans and tall mountains for the Mortillis to explore to their heart's content. He created the first star to warm the skin of the Mortillis and the first stars for them to ponder in their beauty. The Father, however, lost his infatuation with Helvell, desiring to create something more for the Mortillis. A better world for them to live, one without the little struggles they already had on Helvell. The Father did not wish to leave the Mortillis without his guidance and protection, for they were too innocent and complacent to fully live on their own as a species. To keep the Mortillis safe, the Father created the Lords of Helvell, making them of his image. The Lords were created with the Father’s benevolence and kindness and were instructed to keep the Mortillis fat, safe, and happy. The Father then left to construct his new paradise. The Lords of Helvell ruled just as the father had for eons, working to keep the peace and protect the Mortillis.
