Parly the Great Artisan
Parly is the God of artisans. Parly is one of the oldest Gods of Torineya since people started to make things almost at the same time as they could be even names sentient.
His symbol is the hand holding the working equipment, and people depict this with different things from sticks to needles.
The clerics of Parly are usually no strangers to hand work, and each temple is also some kind of artisan workshop, depending on what is the most developed art in the area. For example, if the region's artisans are famous for their woodcarving techniques, the artisans will come to the local temple of Parly and decorate it with their best carvings.
In the big city, the temple of Parly will usually have a few sections, each managed by a head cleric, blessing all the artisans of their respective craft. In general, each temple has its doors wide open for all types of artisans, and traveling artisans always try to pay a visit to local Parly temples to have their work blessed and to exchange craft experiences with fellow masters.
Raw art materials are often used as sacrifices to Parly, however, it is generally considered a bad manner to sacrifice too much material. Parly appreciates when a material is used for a craft, and sometimes artisans sacrifice the successful product if it was a result of a long training with a goal to improve their skill. It is believed that Parly oversees the process of skill development of all artisans, and by sacrificing the first product of decent quality crafters appreciate Parly's help. The money donations to Parly temples are partially used to provide raw materials for master artisans willing to decorate the temple or to provide training to apprentices willing to help the temple in exchange for such a service.
