Misty Marshes

Misty Marshes is a large territory that precedes Northern Lands and expands to the south, where it merges with The Princely Lands of Brondan (also known as Brondan Lands or The Union of Northern Lords). To the east - Mountain Ridge of Oblivion separates this area from the rest of the continent.

Ecology

The rivers sourcing from the mountains mix with the salt water that floods the coast forming the unique swampy terrain containing muddy uplands and flooded valleys, that makes it very difficult to travel across.

Misty Marshes have warmer southern part containing a several villages of Brondan Lands and northern - colder and wilder part. It is very inhospitable and mostly uncharted area which is a home for dangerous creatures such as shambling mounts and catoblepases.

The most south-eastern region of Misty Marshes is considered to be the warmest in the area and therefore has plenty of trees and bushes. Local villagers also call this part of the marshes The Flooded Forest due to the frequent floods of river Kunka.

This unique environment makes some rare herbs, that believed to have healing properties, to thrive. Purple-Eye berry and Swamp Ivy - are the most popular species of flora among the local herbalists and alchemists.

Population

Southern parts of Misty Marshes belong to Mollnar and Leunord counties of Brondan Lands. There were multiple fights for the most strategically valued and fertile areas between the Lords. However, due to harsh conditions and aggressive fauna only a few settlements that considered to be a part of the union are successful.

Barbarian tribe Toobrou is known for outstanding survival skills in the most northern part of Misty Marshes.
