Party members meet

The lives of four travellers intersect on the plains outside Tilverton in northern Cormyr.

A two-headed Death Dog has been roaming the plains between Tilverton and Tilvers gap, killing everything it can catch. Leaving a trail of carnage in its wake, it picks up the scent of its next victim. Within sight of the large defensive walls of Tilverton, the Death Dog attacks his target - a Halfling resident of Tilverton named Lithh. The Purple Dragons on the Tilverton battlements call out to warn the Halfling and other travellers nearby. As Purple Dragons rush out from the gate, but they will never make it in time. The Death Dog attacks and three brave travellers rush to Lithh's aid - a Svirfneblin named Cabaal, a Half Orc named Cavebird, and a Sun Elf known as Alobal. Together they defeat the Death Dog, then watch in amazement as its corpse rapidly decomposes before their eyes, as the first of the Purple Dragons finally reach them. Neither the travellers nor the Purple Dragons had seen this sort of magic before.   The four strangers enter Tilverton. They register their names as they enter and have their weapons peace bound as is the custom for citizens throughout Cormyr.   That night the four strangers share a meal and several drinks at the busiest and most famous tavern in Tilverton, The Flagon Held High. They recount their tale, tell stories from their past and share knowledge and rumours that they have heard. One rumour stands out - the Tomb of the Ogre King. Lithh knows a guy who knows a guy who knew how to find this long lost tomb. The adventurers are tempted by the lure of treasure and adventure and decide to investigate the Tomb of the Ogre King. They spend the night at the house of Lithh's mentor, the formere thief Bruenor, and plan to head out the next day.
