Thel Drendar
Thel Drendar was born into a family of woodcarvers in a small village near the city of Phandalin. From a young age, he was drawn to the art of woodworking and spent countless hours in his father's workshop, learning the craft.
As he grew older, Thel's passion for woodworking only grew stronger, and he eventually opened his own workshop in Phandalin. His skill and attention to detail quickly earned him a reputation as one of the best woodcarvers in the region, and his business flourished.
Thel married a woman named Mirna, and together they had two children, a daughter named Misa and a son named Nards. Thel was a devoted husband and father, and he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and give them a comfortable life.
However, Thel's success drew the attention of the local gang known as the Redbrands. The Redbrands were a group of bandits who terrorized the town, extorting money from local businesses and residents. Thel refused to pay their protection fee, believing it to be a matter of principle.
One night, as Thel was closing up his workshop, a group of Redbrands ambushed him. They beat him mercilessly and left him for dead, taking whatever valuables they could find in the workshop. When Thel's wife and children found him the next morning, he was barely alive.
Despite their best efforts to save him, Thel eventually succumbed to his injuries and passed away. His death was a devastating blow to his family and the entire community of Phandalin, who had lost one of their most talented and beloved artisans.
Mirna and her children were left to pick up the pieces and carry on without Thel. They struggled to make ends meet without his income, but they refused to give in to the Redbrands' demands. Mirna became a fierce advocate for justice and worked tirelessly to bring the Redbrands to justice, hoping to prevent anyone else from suffering the same fate as her beloved husband.
