Among their ranks were two individuals, Gogo Thornt and Rumple Stillskien, who were once partners in crime.
Gogo, despite his rough exterior, possessed a strong moral compass and secretly resented the Redbrand's cruel tactics. He saw potential for change within their organization, hoping to steer them towards a path of less harm. Rumple, on the other hand, was driven by ambition and craved power within the criminal underworld. He eagerly embraced the Redbrand's wicked ways, reveling in the fear they instilled.
Over time, Gogo's influence on Rumple began to take hold. Gogo believed that even the most hardened individuals could be redeemed, and he saw a flicker of goodness within Rumple's heart. They developed a deep bond as friends, sharing their aspirations, fears, and dreams, which strengthened their connection.
However, as the Redbrands' atrocities escalated, Gogo's conscience started to conflict with his loyalty to the group. He attempted to convince Rumple to leave the Redbrands behind and seek a better life. But Rumple, hungry for power and recognition, saw Gogo's concerns as weakness and betrayed him to the Redbrands' leaders.
Rumple's betrayal left Gogo at the mercy of the Redbrand Ruffians. They unleashed their fury upon him, leaving him gravely wounded.
Rumple now is trying to rise above his rank and take over the Redbrands from Iarno, as he became Iarno's second hand. He wants to turn the Redbrands into a band less about petty thievery but a band that fights for the city like mercenary.
3/1/1:
Rumple questions Iarno why Iarno wants the Redbrands to stay in town and not expand their influence. Iarno says he cannot disclose as to why he is doing it but Rumple should obey and continue to to show the town trouble. Rumple annoyed starts to gather up some subordinates who agree with him in hopes he can take over or at least get some answers.
3/4/1:
Rumple sends two of his strongest rebellion members to scout around Phandalin and attack some random people to make it look like Iarno is really in charge. Rumple later in the night overhears that his men died while fighting, and one was left naked and attacked. They were described as adventurers and one has a great description of Gogo Thornt. Rumple furious, goes to the town master Webster and threatens him to make sure these adventures either leave or not attack the redbrands as this could ruin his plans. Webster scared agrees to go find out where the adventurers are.
3/6/1:
Rumple coming back to the hideout sees that they have been infiltrated and he sets up a plan to bring down the infiltrators. To his surprise he sees Gogo. Thinking back he really does regret but he knows these guys will take down Iarno for him so he lets Gogo live but badly wounded. Gogo fights with all his might but Rumple takes him down easily. Rumple decides its best to go on his own and rebuild. He heads out and plans to follow Gogo in the shadows if he survives.
3/7/1:
Rumple takes part in the party for Amber, Sildar, Gogo, and Isac and watches them celebrate. He plans to follow them wherever they go.
3/8/1:
Rumple overhears that the party will be heading to Connyberry so he leaves ahead of time to meet them there.
3/10/1:
Rumple sees the adventurers arrive at Connyberry and wanders around following them.
3/11/1:
Rumple follows the group as they approach a shrine, he witnesses gogo, and pippy get into some trouble as they ring some bell that sends a Banshee and kidnaps Pippy. Rumple follows the group as they frantically run into the forest. Rumple waits and watches them from far. When out of nowhere Isac spots him and asks what is he doing, Rumple tells Isac the truth and wants to talk to Gogo to rebuild the Redbrands as he heard that Iarno may be contolled by an outside source. He tells Gogo to meet with him at Phandalin.
3/13/1:
Rumple heads back to the old hideout where he surprisingly still sees Iarno there. He asks him what is he up to. Iarno is desperately packing his stuff and grabbing any valuables, he tells Rumple to hurry up and get ready to leave too as they have been summoned to meet with someone, Iarnos boss, The Black Spider. They have to meet at some location near Phandalin in some cave. Rumple confronts Iarno how he is staying and rebuilding the redbrands on his own. Iarno says if he stays then he will most likely die. As he has been informed that Goblins will be attacking on the 15th and they are given 2 days to leave. Rumple knowing this is truth he agrees to go with Iarno.
3/14/1:
The Black Spider meets with Rumple and Iarno in the wave echo cave, they are told to hold up camp here as they will be fed and entertained and kept hidden from the people of Phandalin as they will look for a scapegoat and they are easy pickings. They camp out there for weeks.
4/10/1:
Hearing a commotion Glasstaff and Rumple hideout together within the pillars of a cave as they see a couple of adventurers consisting of Maldron, Aurthum, Amber, Pippy, and Isac. Rumple asks from the shadows where is Gogo. When suddenly in a fury Pippy kills and decapitates Rumple.
