The Echofold
Also referred to as The Tides of Elsewhen and The Paradox Drift, The Echofold describes the concept of time loss or time gained when travelling through portals leading to different planes.
Whereas this occurrence previously only affected travelers from or to the Feywild, since the Dissipation the effects now also apply to traveling to other planes.
There are ways to avoid The Echofold, but not many can replicate this skill.
Solving the Echfold
The Echofold serves as a protective layer on the outer rim of the Astral Plane. In the Astral Plane creatures stop ageing, but in order to compensate, the Echofold was created. In a sense, it is supposed to ''correct'' a creature's temporal delay and therefore sends them back to the correct time.
The pull one feels while travelling through the Astral Plane isn't exclusive to one's physical location, but also includes their temporal placement. It cannot be negated by any spell or blade, but this tether can only but cut by purging one's internal anchor linking them to their original plane.
