Two Headed. The amperbane has two heads at the front and back of its body, meaning it can attack creatures behind it without needing to turn around and do not suffer any penalties to attacks made against it from behind.
Actions
Wing Flap. The ampherbane flaps its wings with great strength, buffeting any creature within 5 feet. Creatures struck must perform a Dexterity saving throw ( DC 12 ), being knocked Prone on a failed save.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 3 (1d4 + 1) piercing damage.
Reactions
Retreat. When the ampherbanes current hit points reach below half of its maximum amount it will attempt to flee, using its full movement to move away from any danger or creature that is hostile to it.
Flammable Blood. If the ampherbane is bleeding or made bloodied it will be vulnerable to fire damage of any kind, as its blood ignites instantly and burns the ampherbane entirely from the inside and out.
Description
A meek member of the dragon family, ampherbanes normally are found in fertile areas that are home to bugs and insects. Farmers and locals are often pestered by these docile, two headed serpentine creatures as they dig up their land in search for food. Meanwhile originating from hotter regions, they often migrate to forests and fields when ant and termite populations in their local area grow scarce.
A Head on Each End. Ampherbanes are one of the only members of the dragon family to possess more than one head, along with the more known hydra, however this trait does not make it more menacing as these skittish beings rarely put up a fight anyways when escape is an option. The second head does come in use when the ampherbane is flying away from a predator or hostile creature, as it will continuously snap and bite at any creature that attempts to attack or grab it while it is in flight.
Blue and Flammable Blood. One of the lesser known things about ampherbanes is their blood, which is blue in color and stenches like raw oil. When the blood is struck with fire or a mere spark it bursts into a massive flame, a bleeding ampherbane is extremely vulnerable to fire and makes it easy to take care of. Some collect their blood to use as oil for lanterns or lighting fires.
