The Platinum Monastery
The home, headquarters and heart of the Order of the Platinum Dragon. Founded and formed by a group of good-aligned dragons, it is a training center for those that will fight as warriors of good in the never-ending war against evil.
Defences
Roughly a dozen watch-points dot the approach to the monastery, all of which are targets of individual scrying spells. Monks trained in the Way of the Dragon (10th level and higher) man these watch-points, and use their Divine Sense class ability to envelop the area with silent detect evil and good spells.
Infrastructure
Those that built the monastery were determined to make it self-sufficient. As a result, it has a number of amenities fueled by minor elementals: forges and water-heating (fire), refilling wells and baths (water), self-repairing structures (earth), and windmills (air). The buildings of the settlement themselves are simple yet sturdily built, and a large farm is tended to by all the inhabitants at various times.
Assets
The monastery has a fully-stocked armory, which loans out its weapons for training or hunting purposes. A "group treasury" of sorts is formed from tithes given by the various residents and visitors; while the treasury is meant to handle expenses that may arise, it is strongly encouraged that the treasury grows at a steady rate.
Geography
The monastery is tucked into the middle of the mountain range to the east of Shining Falls. They get their water from a small tributary of the Delimbiyr, and the only way to see the monastery as a whole is by following this tributary. While most of the monastery is not visible past a few miles, the view within the monastery is stunning with its altitude.
Natural Resources
Below the mountains is a decent-sized iron vein, which is mined only sporadically when materials are needed. Small farms, both of crops and animals, are kept and tended by all residents of the monastery.
