Session 29: Whorlwind Big City Adventure Report

General Summary

Having entered the tunnels in the West Cleft District of Gracklstugh, the party began to explore in search of the derro named Droki. In the process, they found a ritual chamber full of bones and corpses, where they encountered Buppido.
Buppido asked the characters to surrender themselves as sacrifices, but they naturally refused. Angered, Buppido summoned six skeletons from the bones around them; two of which formed into large minotaur skeletons. After a furious battle, the skeletons lay in more pieces than they had began with, and Buppido tried to get a sneak attack in on the party by feigning surrender. He was cut down before he got the chance, however.
After the dust settled, the ghost of a gnome named Pelek spoke with the party. He was one of Buppido's victims, and asked the party to find a piece of himself to inter so that he might find rest. As thanks, he told them that a derro resembling Droki frequented the tunnels, but had some way of getting through dead-end rooms without turning and leaving them.
Afterward, the party encountered a group of capering myconids, which disturbed Stool. After a polite, if confusing conversation, the party took one of the myconids under their care. He introduced himself as Rumpadump, and did not share the strange behaviors of his fellows. Once the conversation had ended, the myconids left the cavern via walking into a patch of fungus on the wall.
Continuing on, they came upon a strange mesa. After some experimenting, they found that it seemed to be able to hear echoes from all around Gracklstugh, including the tunnels they were in. Using this, Jaaski was able to hear mutterings from Droki, and estimated that he was somewhere to the northwest of the mesa.
Exploring further, they began to hear a bubbling, as if a potion was being brewed. They decided to investigate...
