Human

Summary

God

The races of man cannot trace their lineage directly to any god, and are instead descended directly from the Astrals. Their arrival in the realms of the gods is attributed to the god Sar'aan, who bought a small population of Astrals to the west. They worship many gods, but typically follow the teachings of Sar'aan in their western homes or The Godcasters of Sethir in the new homes of man on the continent.

Description

Humans, often refereed to as The children of man or kin of Sar'aan, typically stand between 5'4 and 6'2, but there are even greater variations in their height. They have frames that stand more tall than wide but to which extent varies greatly between the many strains of mankind. Their eyes and hair vary greatly in color between the major populations, from the fair men of Hyeros to the dark skinned yet bright eyed Seofarean people.

Cultures

Most Human cultures are descended either from their ancestral Tiorathi customs or from one of the sects along the Sethiri realms. The largest Cultures often have their own strict identity.

History

Humanity is descended from a group of the Astrals that had given up their immortality to enter the realms of the gods, and the many strains of Mankind can trace their lineage back primarily to the Tiorath Isles where they were settled by Sar'aan long before the first age, long before they diverged into the myriad of forms they took before the fracturing of the Tiorath Hierarchy. Many of these strains of Humanity find their origins in the states that once made up the single territory known as Sethir (most of which are now individual states).   The humans of Sethir began to separate from the primary Tiorathan populace within the first century of the first age, as the Tiorathan settlers began to mingle with the native tribes of the region. Both the Seofarean and Oroni peoples are the result of intermarriage between Tiorathans and Demi-Astrals, or 'Low men' as the Tiorathan's named them, while the Hyerosians are the result of Human and Seltien coupling.   The three new races of man were already recognizable by the end of the first age, however they did not truly exist as they do now until the arrival of The Godcasters of Sethir in the early second age. The Godcasters are responsible for altering the magical makeup of the three subcultures of Sethir with the introduction of caster magic, and by extension altering the physical makeup of the Sethiri.
