The Divinity Postulate
As of 843, the most supported theory about divine magic likens it to a black box. We believe that the separation between divine magic and arcane magic only occurred since The Banishment. Records suggest that all magic was Divine before the banishment. Soon after The Banishment arcans were discovered due to a change in the fundamental rules of magic. We are nearly certain that divine magic is a result of the incomprehensible power of the prime gods. We also believe that all divine magic is sourced in the prime gods, even if channeled through a lesser god or holy person. Divine magic is alike a black box because we know how to manipulate it, but we truly do not know what we are manipulating. This allows for mages to channel the power of the gods seemingly against their will, or at least without contacting the god in question. This means that divine magic CAN be studied and practiced even without religion or fate.
