Re'em
Off the coast of the southeasternmost city of Ulenfisk, Le’Plor, lies a large tropical land mass, called Re’em (Pronounced Ray-eem). This island rests between the continent of Le’Plor larger mountainous crescent island called Mormor. The island of Re’em is made up of two mountains that spring from the sea. The hillsides are covered with trees and unique wildlife. The northeastern mountain, Yrhen, reaches a peak of just over 6’000 ft. Olnen (Pronounced Ol-nen), the western mountain, falls short at approximately 5’500 ft. These mountains are what gives Re’em its binoculars-like shape.
Re’em city stands as an unallied state. At the start of the 6th-century post-banishment, the state of Re’em was created. It was formed as a place of free enterprise, and a home for the ACOL, the Arch Court of Le’Plor. This court is made up of leaders from each province in Le’Plor. This court serves two purposes. This court governs Re’em democratically. This court also serves as a place for provincial affairs to be heard and discussed.
Each state or province that is a member of the ACOL, referred to as Acolyte States, has partial ownership over Re’em. This effectively makes Re’em a territory of many states. Any citizen of an acolyte state has citizenship in Re’em. The majority of the acolyte states accept citizens of other acolyte states as their own citizens. Each state or province that is a member of the ACOL, referred to as Acolyte States, has partial ownership over Re’em.
For three centuries Re’em has stood as a place of near pure free enterprise. Its purpose is to be a place for trade to happen freely between Acolytes. Each Acolyte retains their membership in the understanding of two main principles. They believe trade is most efficient and productive if done through Re’em, and they believe their membership prevents wars and their problems can be solved democratically.
