Kalkydrite

Kalkydrite is a magical crystal found exclusively in regions that have been associated with celestials or divine beings for a long amount of time, particularly ones associated with “good” concepts or “goodness” in general. The crystal radiates high amounts of ambient arcane and divine magic, to the point that large concentrations of the crystal can be unpredictable and dangerous. However, this also makes the crystal a particularly strong focus for both divine and arcane magic (especially for magic users who worship “good” deities) and can even replace important talisman in use of divine spell casting. This also applies to typically “neutral” deities as long as they are also associated with “lawfulness.” The magical signature, emanation, or radiation from Kalkydrite, specifically the divine, is very similar to the metal Oniarite, although "opposite."

The effects of long term and high concentrations of Kalkydrite radiation can range from minor prophetic or “divine” hallucinations, to sudden painful growths of eyes, white bird feathers, gold or other valuable metals in the flesh, burns, and blinding similar to that caused by high amounts of light. Public information on Kalkydrite is limited, as it has only been found in large quantities in the Feirg mountains. Furthermore, the Queen of Mykthal has put strict regulations on the harvest and trade of the material due to its potentially harmful effects.
