Vereen

Vereen is a substance native to the High Seas Archipelago found on a lot of the exotic flying animals that live there. It is a thin silky layer most notably found on the large sky bison that live in the Upper Isles. 
Prior to the Colonization Era it was commonly used by the Water Genasi for it's healing properties when applied as a bandage and the Air Genasi tribes would use it for their air skiffs.
Once the Colonization Era began and races from The Continent discovered the air skiffs using it to fly through the Upper Aisles, it quickly grew in popularity as the technology from The Continent began finding uses of Veneer for their sails of naval ships and the newer massive airships.
