Souls in the Tomeric Planar Vortex are immense amounts of energy contained in a living vessel. Unlike physical objects they are not controlled by gravity but instead controlled by the Cosmic Winds.

Should someone be able to harness a full soul they have the equivalent amount of energy as that person could create in real life over the course of that creature's entire lifespan. While not all souls are created equal, they are used as the basis of energy measurements among scholars. They will use terms such as a SoulQuarter, SoulHalve, and Soul of Energy.
