Jira Plains

The Jira Plains are a large swath of plains filled with nutrient rich golden grass and golden ginkoes trees that is located deep inside the Woods of Jira. While most people might think that the Woods of Jira is solely a jungle, the Jira Plains is actually a large region that is filled with various creatures such as dinosaurs and large herbivores such as hippos, cape buffaloes, and rhinoceros.   Due to the rich nutrients of the golden grass this area allows the local animals to grow much larger than their counterparts throughout the rest of The Continent and this attracts the most daring hunters and richest collectors to send people to this area to collect trophies. This tends to end up in odds with the local T'ualo Clan much of the time causing tensions at times between the Catfolk and the peope of the rest of The Continent.   The plains are also home to Sun Rock and the T'ualo Clan where they make their living hunting the roaming herbivores. While predominantly large herbivores it is also home to some predators such as roving Allosaurus, Carnatourus, and the packs of Deinonychus.   The Jira Plains have the Clearwater and Blackwater River running through it which are the two largest rivers in the Woods of Jira and provide the large number of wildlife plenty of drinking water from Clearwater River while the Blackwater River provides plenty of nutrients to the demanding golden glade grass and golden ginkoe trees.   Perhaps the most striking feature however is the large volcano on the west side of the plains. This volcano is also home to the path the dinosaurs take when they migrate out of the plains for the flood and mating season. In the current era the volcano has been dormant for many years and there is no explosion in any of Recorded History.   The Jira Plains are a favorite of both artists and scryers of Destus for it's stunning beauty and unique landscape. It was famously shown off in the The Golden Glade painting which is one of the most prized paintings of all time and is shown off in the Hall of Tomeria.
