Essence Dragons

Essence Dragons are native to Tomeria and are beings of immense power directly connected to the Primordials power. Due to that they are directly connected to the planet leaving them immensely hard to kill while in their specific domain. Unlike New Age Dragons which are connected to a color or metal, Essence Dragons are typically connected to a specific biome, element, or even idea in Tomeria. They are most commonly seen as connected to biomes such as Frost and Swamp Dragons.

While New Age Dragons typically exert a magical influence over a nearby area it interacts far less with its environment than an Essence Dragons domain. Due to the inherent connection between Essence Dragon and their domain they always have some sort of foresight into what goes on in their domain and any creature or plant that lives in the area will undoubtedly see changes as a result of being in their domain. This is most commonly seen in the Scalebound people which are humanoids that are born or live in the domain of an Essence Dragon for a period of time and will gain scales and powers as a consequence of it.

Essence Dragons are not magical in the typical sense, however. They have power over their domain in a way that may seem like magick but is simply a result of their immensely powerful soul and connection with that domain giving them mastery over it.
