Dinosaurs

The dinosaurs that live in Tomeria have quite a variety and live in all corners of the world. The largest group however is native to the Woods of Jira. The majority of them, herbivores and the larger carnivores, reside in the Jira Plains for most of the year except during flood/mating season. It is unknown by scholars where they go to during that time as most scholars have never been to the Woods of Jira much less deep enough to venture into the Jira Plains and rely on 3rd party accounts or scrying to learn about them.
As the dinosaurs require large amounts of nutrients the large herds feed off of the nutrient rich golden glade grass and golden ginko trees which are some of the most nutrient dense plants in all of Tomeria.
It is unknown how many different species of dinosaurs there are and even the most highly regarded scholars in Destus know very little overall about them. However, some studies suggest that the dinosaurs roam together as one giant pack, herbivores and carnivores alike, and are ruled by an alpha.
Notable dinosaurs
The Alpha
Typically the largest on land carnivore, there is suggested to only be several of these massive carnivores at one time with typically only one ever being seen on the Jira Plains at a time. If there are multiple it is considered a bad sign as that means there is a challenger to the current Alpha and plenty of carnage and destruction to follow. When another challenges a new alpha it goes on a rampage to attract the attention. Depending on the temper of the current alpha that means it could potentially take weeks before the alpha decides to acknowledge the newcomer.
T-Rex and Spinosaurus
Large carnivores that need no excessive explanation. Typically one of these two ends up being the Alpha due to their large size and excellent predatory abilities
Stegosaurus
A favorite of the T'ualo Clan for their large thick scales on the ridge of their back, these are plentiful in the Jira Plains
Anklyosaurus
Another favorite of the T'ualo Clan for their hard armor and scales. One Anklyosaurus can satisfy the T'ualo clan's weapon and armor needs for quite some time.
Mosasaurus
Nearly more myth than fact, it is an alleged sea dinosaur that lives inbetween The Continent and the Island of Poise. There have been several reported sightings of the massive creature but not much beyond that.
