Brandywine

Origin
The Brandywine is a ship whose origin starts with a tale and a name that came from it's inspiration and her drink of choice. The famous (or infamous) pirate Erik Liefson would oftentimes visit a small port in the Moldur Region called Ashencrag .

Here Erik met a barmaid named Brandy who according to him was the finest girl he had ever seen. While Erik Liefson was obsessed with the sea and it's adventures he would oftentimes come back to visit this port to see Brandy and everytime he returned Brandy would fruitlessly try to convince him to stay and everytime he would leave.

Eventually Brandy revealed her secret in one last bid to convince him to stay. Brandy was actually an ancient and powerful dryad that had grown bored of forests after many years and is why she now had became a barmaid to see the new and interesting things the sailors would bring from far away.

Ever the clever one, Erik Liefson came up with a plan. Him and his crew of sailors (or pirates) carefully milled her ancient oak grove and with her help, the crew was able to keep her alive and turn her into a legendary ship which allowed her to both stay with Erik Liefson and see the world like her dream entailed.

Physical Features

The Brandywine is a large ship with 4 decks and a unique elliptical stern that improved its strength compared to traditional ship builds. Additionally the ship carries multiple living areas that were designed for creatures to comfortably live on the ship that prove useful to the crew such as an underwater region for animals to come and go as they please, an aviary for messenger birds and allegedly a drake, and a full garden.

The armaments' on the ship is quite large carrying a heavy amount of long and short range cannons along with holds designed for the infamous Liefson's Eldritch Snipers who were capable of disabling ships by themselves when in short range.

The long guns carried were phased in and out but for the most part consisted of 30lb guns with the short range guns being 20lb guns. The long guns were capable of hitting ships nearly a mile away while the short guns were oftentimes used in tandem with cursed or enchanted ammunition.

When it came to propulsion from normal physical means, the Brandywine had 3 main masts along with a ship rig which extended along the bow.

The living quarters amongst the Brandywine was considered to be some of the finest ever and many scholars believe is what led Erik Liefson to be so successful as he retained a happy and elite crew unlike many pirates who would cycle crewmembers in and out fast. Due to having an abnormally small crew for such a large ship there was plenty of space.

Special Features   The Brandywine had many unique features due to it's inherently magical nature. The most notable being the ability for Brandy to summon nature spirits to assist in menial and easy tasks. She would also go on to offer the ship as a out for the rare nature spirit looking for an escape from the normality of their usual life.

This led the Brandywine to being able to outman opposing ships quite easily when necessary and keep less food onboard with a more spacious layout for the crew.

There are also unconfirmed tales of the ship being able to use magic to power itself for faster movement but it is unknown how this is achieved. Typically dryads are only able to have much control over the plant they inhabit but it isn't out unheard of for more powerful ones to be able to control animals or other elements.

Due to the wood of the ship being a literal living being, this allows the Brandywine to slowly regenerate instead of having to solely rely on repairs. In fact it is suspected that the ship isn't ever repaired in the normal sense but rather uses druids and other Nature Magick casters to speed up the repairs.
