Tidal Wave
3rd-Level Evocation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S, M (a drop of water)
Duration: Instantaneous
You create a wave of water that crashes down on an area within range. The area can be up to 30 feet long, up to 10 feet wide, and up to 10 feet tall. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage and 2d8 cold damage, is pushed back 10 feet, and is knocked prone. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage, is not pushed back, and isn’t knocked prone. The water then spreads out across the ground in all directions, extinguishing unprotected flames in its area and within 30 feet of it, and then it vanishes.
At Higher Levels: If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you can increase the length of the wave’s size by 10 feet, and its width and height by 5 feet for every two slot levels above 3rd. Additionally, if you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you can increase the distance a target is pushed by 5 feet and increase both the bludgeoning and cold damage by 1d8 for every two slot levels above 3rd.
Spell Lists: Druid, Wizard, Way of the Four Elements Monk (Water Disciplines), The Elemental Patron (Water), The Fathomless Patron Warlock
