Casting Time: 1 reaction, which you take when you see a creature within range casting a spell with somatic components, or hear a creature within range casting a spell with verbal components.

You attempt to interrupt a creature in the process of casting a spell. Make a contested ability check against the creature casting the spell using your spellcasting ability. The opposing creature uses its spellcasting ability for this ability check. If you succeed on the contested ability check, the creature’s spell fails and has no effect, and the spell slot it used to cast the spell is wasted. 

You add a bonus to the check equal to half your spellcasting level (rounded up) and double the level of the spell slot used to cast this spell, while the opposing creature adds a bonus to the check equal to half its spellcasting level (rounded up) and double the level of the spell slot used to cast the spell being interrupted.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the bonuses added to the ability check increases depending on the level of the spell slot used
