Arcane Visionary

Arcane Visionaries are wizards who dedicate their lives to the literature and lore of spellcasting and are often the ones to thank for the creation of most spells. The most bookish of wizards, visionaries experiment with their magic and mana to pursue the creation of new spells and concepts. This innovation and knowledge they possess allow these wizards to express their magical creativity and be prepared for any situation.

Advanced Arcana

When you adopt this tradition at 3rd level, you learn advanced techniques in spellbook scribing and casting. You gain the following benefits:

Additional Spellbook Pages: You can prepare one additional spell in your spellbook when you complete a long rest. When you reach higher levels in this class, you gain additional spell preparations. When you reach 6th level, you can prepare another additional spell, and another at 10th level and 14th level.

Enhanced Ritual Casting: When you cast a spell as a ritual, you can use the spell's normal casting time, rather than adding 10 minutes to it. Once you use this benefit, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest, or you expend 1 mana point to do so again.

Invigorating Spells: After you cast a spell at a higher level than its normal level, your speed increases by 10 feet until the start of your next turn.

Scholarly Pursuits

Beginning at 3rd level, you begin to use your research in magic to experiment and enhance your spells. This research is shown through Scholar points and Arcane Pursuits. You have two Scholar points and the capability to create one Arcane Pursuit.

When you complete a long rest, you can create an Arcane Pursuit, which is a combination of one of your prepared spells, and one of your known metamagic options with a cost of 1 mana point. When you cast the chosen spell with the chosen metamagic, you can use one of your Scholar points to cast it without expending mana points. You must still expend a spell slot to cast the spell you use in your Arcane Pursuit.

Your Scholar points can only be used to perform Arcane Pursuits. When you perform an Arcane Recovery during a short rest, you can change one of your Arcane Pursuits.

You regain all your expended Scholar Points when you complete a long rest. When you reach higher levels in this class, you gain additional Scholar points. At 6th level, you gain a 3rd Scholar point, and a 4th point at 14th level. You can also create additional Arcane Pursuits when you reach higher levels in this class.

Shared Notes

Starting at 6th level, you can share your magical discoveries with your allies. You can conduct a 10 minute ritual instructing and sharing your notes (which can be done during a short or long rest), using your spellbook. You can conduct the ritual with a number of other willing creatures equal to your proficiency bonus.

After the ritual is complete, each participant (excluding yourself) temporarily learns one spell from your spellbook. The spell a participant learns doesn’t have to be prepared, must be either 1st or 2nd level, and does not have to be the same spell that other participants learn. If a participant has the spellcasting feature, it casts the learnt spell with its own spell slots. If a participant lacks a spellcasting feature, it can cast the spell once without expending a spell slot.

Once you perform the ritual, you can't do so again until you start a long rest, and the participants know their chosen spells until you start a long rest.

Studious Dedication

Beginning at 10th level, your dedication to the arcane has enhanced your mind. You gain the following benefits:

Extensive Research: You learn one spell of your choice from any class of 5th level or lower. This spell is added to your spellbook and must still be prepared like your other spells.

Improved Invigorate: After you cast a spell at a higher level than its normal level, in addition to your speed increase, you have advantage on Dexterity and Constitution checks until the start of your next turn.

Additional Research

Starting at 10th level, when you complete a long rest, you can now prepare an additional Arcane Pursuit that you can cast with your Scholar points.

Master Scrivener

Beginning at 14th level, your magic truly demonstrates the extensive time and dedication you put into your arcane arts. You gain the following benefits:

Advanced Pursuits: When creating your Arcane Pursuits, you can choose a metamagic option with a mana point cost of up to 3 points.

Efficient Instructor: Whenever you perform your Shared Notes ritual, each participant can now learn 3rd level spells from your spellbook. Additionally, after you perform this ritual, you gain a +2 bonus to any ability checks that use an Intelligence skill until you start a long rest.

Additional Research

Starting at 14th level, when you complete a long rest, you can now prepare an additional Arcane Pursuit that you can cast with your Scholar points.
