Weeping Goddess
The Weeping Goddess is the name given to a statue of Indriathna of The Tinavri. It is all but swallowed by the Veldonati Jungle, half-buried in the ruin of an ancient Yuan-Ti city. Water is forced up through the statue by uncertain means, causing the statue to "weep" tears that eventually join with the water of the Kaveri River. At the base of her statue, a large sinkhole is open, leading down into subterranean parts of the ruins.
In the chambers below, the Adventurers seeking the Crown of Heaven discovered a well of inky blackness was surrounded by four statues of serpents, corresponding to the various Yuan-Ti snake deities, and with space for a fifth statue which would have corresponded to the forbidden God known as Dendar the Night-Serpent. By solving a puzzle, the group called a shadow version of the statue into being, and the well opened, allowing the undead form of Taija Stonehand to emerge. After her defeat, the sinkhole began collapsing, and the group fled before being buried alive.
